Get Tangled Up in a Terrific Movie! by Emma W
Everyone knows the fairytale Rapunzel, but did you know she had magical hair? Or a pretend mother who doesn’t share Rapunzel’s magical gift? These are just the basics of the animated movie “Tangled.” I saw this movie originally a long time ago, but I watched it again on Saturday
evening to get the full experience. A wonderful plot, crazy funny characters, beautiful animation and music all combine to make this movie a real hit. I believe “Tangled” is a five star movie worth seeing again and again.
To begin, this movie takes place in a tower in a forest of an imaginary kingdom during medieval times. The main characters are Mother Gothel, Rapunzel, played by Mandy Moore, Flynn Rider, played by Zachary Levi, and Pascal, the chameleon who is not played by a specific actor but uses animal sounds and gestures to get his point across. The plot is about an old woman named Gothel who hordes a magical flower with special healing powers. The queen in the kingdom gets very sick when she is pregnant and needs
the flower powers and magic to cure her. The king‘s guards help find Gothel’s hidden magic sunflower, and it heals
the queen. This transfers the magic of the flower to the Queen’s infant daughter, baby Rapunzel.
Gothel wants her magic back so she breaks into the castle and steals Rapunzel. She flees with the baby Rapunzel to a 70 foot tower hidden in the forest. She keeps her locked up, pretends to be her mother, and raises Rapunzel all the time using her magical hair to stay young and pretty. Gothel cannot cut Rapunzel’s hair because the magic will be lost. Along comes Flynn Rider, a bandit on the run. He eventually helps Rapunzel out of the tower and takes her on the adventure of a lifetime to fulfill her birthday wish. Rapunzel wants to see in person the beautiful lanterns that always light
the night sky on her birthday. They set off together, and along the way they meet all kinds of characters and get into all kinds of trouble. Eventually Flynn and Rapunzel have to face evil Mother Gothel and make the decision of their lives.
In this film, I thought all the actors and actresses did a fantastic job doing the voices of the characters. Mandy Moore, who’s the voice of Rapunzel, did a wonderful job singing in the movie. Zachary Levi was funny and terrific as Flynn, but the best part of the character Flynn was the animation because of all running, jumping the animators created. The other character that was amazing was the little chameleon,
Pascal. This adorable reptile did not talk. He just made cute gestures and sounds, but I thought he deserved an Oscar for his funny, sweet
performance. Great job animators!
In addition, there are several other things I liked about this movie, but the main reason I enjoyed “Tangled” is the great dialogue and plot the writers
put together. One of my favorite scenes was when Rapunzel and Flynn are talking to the Royal Guard’s horse Maximus. The horse is hilarious as he looks adoringly at Rapunzel and at the same time sneers at Flynn. They all seem to banter together perfectly and the whole scene
works. The characters are truly funny and entertaining. I also have high marks for the sound effects and songs. One of the best songs is when everyone in the tavern is singing about how they all have a dream. It is playful and filled with fun and action almost like a musical. Also, the special effects in the scene where Rapunzel and Flynn are out on the water rowing in a boat as the lanterns
are filling the night sky is an unforgettable moment. The sky is beautiful, and the song they are singing is perfect. It is a wonderful combination, and I have high praise for the artists and animators. I don’t really have any criticism of “Tangled” except a part at the end of the movie that deals with
Rapunzel’s hair. I would have written it differently, but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen the movie yet.
When it comes to the ending, most stories and films have a moral lesson. “Tangled” is no different in that way. I think the overall
lesson it teaches is to never give up on your dreams because they just may come true in the end. I believe the audience will learn that hope is always with you no matter what happens. Some would say that dreams are so powerful they can change your real life. Rapunzel learns this as she finally sees her dreams come true. The movie also teaches how bad it is to only center on the outer beauty of a person. Mother Gothel is the perfect example of this. She never thinks about the inner beauty, but is afraid of aging and clings to the magic in Rapunzel’s hair
to keep her young and pretty. She will do anything and harm anyone in her way to get the magic. It is like a terrible addiction. Unfortunately, Mother Gothel is empty and evil inside because of her obsession with beauty.
In the end, “Tangled” is a big tangle of deep lessons and all out fun all rolled into one entertaining movie. This film is for adventurous, animation lovers who enjoy great music and clever dialogue. It is a movie for the whole family to enjoy. The rating for “Tangled” is PG, but I think it should be G. I would not recommend “Tangled” to men over the age of 50 unless they watch it with their kids or grandkids because they would probably enjoy watching sports on TV more. But I do love the movie, and I totally recommend it to everyone else, giving it a rating of

Movie Review by Lauren M.
Have you ever felt so angry that you could just throw a punch or two and
maybe even use a lightsaber? Then this movie is for you. Created by George
Lucas, “Attack of the Clones” is about young Jedi apprentice Anakin Skywalker
(Hayden Christensen) and his mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). I viewed it
on Veteran’s Day weekend, and enjoyed it a lot. I’m sure this thrilling action
movie will make you want to fight!
In this movie, Anakin is happy to see Amidala (Natalie Portman), a new
Senator he was fond of when he was a kid. Anakin has a “special feeling” for
Amidala, but Obi-Wan disapproves. As Obi-Wan goes on a mysterious quest,
Anakin and Amidala go to a different planet. Tragedy happens, and Anakin gets so mad
he misuses his lightsaber and powers. When Amidala, Anakin and Obi-Wan get
trapped in Execution Court, they survive but Count Dooku, the one who tried to
kill them in the court, still wants revenge…
The acting was amazing in this movie! First, Hayden Christensen as Anikan
Skywalker was an extraordinary example of the actor fitting with the
character. He did a great job in
the scene where Anakin is enraged.
Ewan McGregor was Obi-Wan Kenobi, the mentor of Anakin.
Again, he was a great fit for the part, showing Obi-Wan’s good but little
sense of humor. Last, Natalie
Portman was Amidala. She was
amazing portraying Amidala’s sweetness and fearlessness.
This movie was a good one! It is a recommendation from me. The costumes are realistic, with lots of detail.
The acting is excellent, with a mix of fast action and somewhat slow scenes. I love the dialogue! It makes you interested in what’s
happening. Without all that I would have stopped watching the movie in the first five minutes!
This movie teaches that if you stay on task, everything will turn out all
right. A scene that explains this is when Amidala got hurt; she still got up and fought, and everything turned out
OK. Another theme is to never give up because if Anakin, Amidala and Obi-Wan had given up, the Dark Side would have
easily won. That would have been a bad movie!
I recommend this movie for age 10 and up, because it has a few scary
scenes in it. It is for action lovers, not people who love slow, girly, romantic movies.
It is rated PG. I would rate this movie 4 out of 5 stars because of all its amazing elements.

2 Parents, 18 Kids, and One problem, Each Other by Emma G.
Think living with your siblings is tough? Try living with 17 of them! This family barely manages to in the family
film, “Yours, Mine, And Ours”. Watching this only a few weeks ago, I couldn’t wait to share my opinion on this 4 out of 5 star rated movie .I guarantee I will blow you away with my described and thought out review! This film will keep you non- stop laughing!
This movie has a lot of descriptive plot to share and I will you why. It starts with
a single mom, Renne Russo, managing ten kids and a strict single father
maintaining eight children. Both are very different families, except the parents
are very close. They started out as high school sweet hearts when they met again
on a cruise, about ten years later, with undeniable chemistry. They instantly
fall in love and marriage is at the hand of the parents but, not the kids.
Fighting, teen drama, sharing and moving in a huge light house, so they had
enough room, was definitely in their future.
The actors did a fantastic job and I’m here to tell you who they are and what makes
them so good. To start, one of the main kids, from the dad’s family, a
responsible young man named John. He keeps a busy schedule with S.A.T forms,
college applications, and chores! He and the eldest from the mom’s side,
Drake, who could care less about anything, keep a rivalry going through out the
movie. Along with the two girls cheerleader champ, Bethany, and a talented
musician named Febi. They keep up the kitty fight! And for the little ones, well
let’s just say there are too many to
count!
There are lots of things I love about this movie but, I’m going to summarize it up in this paragraph. Some of the top
likable reasons are the humor, the effect in the scenes, and …. Ohh, this one is
tough…. I think I‘ll have to go with the fighting and rivaling between the kids.
The humor was a big factor for me because it’s like the humor is telling a story
to the readers that can’t be told in the movie lines itself. Moving on to the
effect of the scene, which basicly means the plot, the way the story goes on and
continues, I enjoyed it because of the transition of the story and the way the
humor blends in perfectly , it’s like the peanut butter flavor mixed in the
chocolate puff in reeses puffs!
And the fighting is just so intense and creative it’s just so
likable!
Everyone learns our lesson on something ridiculous you did when you were little or
something like that and I’m going to tell you what the kids learned. Basicly,
the main lesson was family power is important when you’ve got siblings looking
after you . Don’t give up on someone is a big one to because the kids were going
to give up on each other and not solve their problems together. That’s what I
learned from and I think you’ll learn more about that
too.
Time for the fun part! The rating system! I think this movie deserved a **** out of
***** stars for these reasons. One, for the spectacular humor and creative plot.
Two, for the terrific Character overall performance. And three, I did enjoy this
but, I’ve seen better. This movie is rated PG and I think anyone from six and up
would enjoy this fantastic film!

Les Misérables", a movie adaption based on the book Les
Misérables, written by Victor Hugo, shows the life of Jean Valjean, a former prisoner on parole.
From the life of a prisoner, Jean Valjean is converted and becomes a
successful mayor and businessman. From there the musical story begins. I recently watched this movie on
Veteran's Day, 2013. This classic, heartfelt movie displays tragedy and power.
In France during the early 1800's when the revolts following the
overthrow of Napolean, the film takes place. Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) starts a
company where Fantine (Anne Hathaway) works, earning money to pay the couple
taking care of Cosette in Fantine's absence. When the workers find out Fantine has a
child with a father who left them Fantine loses her job and must find other ways
of finding money. Meanwhile Javert
(Russel Crowe), an inspector, must find Jean Valjean for breaking the law and
his parole.
Many of the actors who participated in this movie were believable, but
one of the most believable actors was Anne Hathaway.
The way she sang "I Dreamed a Dream" in such a heartbreaking way that you
couldn't help but feel her pain. Hugh Jackman had also insisted on doing everything he could to make the
audience believe he had been in prison for over a decade, making him an
incredible Jean Valjean all throughout the movie by going on a diet, shaving
his head, and more. The actor of Éponine, Samantha Banks, had been so knowledgeable about her part and
played it so well for she had also played as Éponine in the 25th Aniversary Stage Show.
All of the actors did a grand
job but these actors in particular really did a wonderful
job.
"Les Misérables" has many wonderful assets, but what was really enjoyable was
the music and the storyline. The
music and the songs especially were beautifully composed and performed, made
better by the fact that the songs were sung on set while filming and were not
recorded soundtracks. Also, the
storyline was written to make an amazing story of tragedy and suffering. Every scene had an authentic looking
setting with props and clothing accurate enough to be in the 1800's.
These were not the only things that made this movie a believable reality,
but were very big parts.
The moral of this story is that you need to have bravery and
courage. You can see this in the
way they do what is right even if it breaks their heart or if it's at the cost
of death. Stand up for what is
right for fairness and justice.
But most of all you need to have faith and hope to keep you going and
never give up. All the fighters
who didn't flee at the barricade had fought to the death in the hope of changing
France and knew the price it might cost. Every movie has a moral and this movie's
moral is a powerful moral that makes an
impact.
A large amount of people would like this movie. Anyone around the age of 15, looking
for a tragedy, a musical, a romance, or a drama would surely enjoy this movie if
you don't like these things in a movie you most likely wouldn't find this as
something worth watching. The
MPAA rating of this movie is PG-13.
"Les Misérables" to me was a fantastic experience to enjoy and I think it is
one of the best movies I have ever seen.
I give this movie five out of five
stars.

“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” is Storming Greatness by Anna Y.
A wannabe inventor Flint Lockwood, (Bill Hadder) invents a machine that
turns water into food. This is what starts off the rest of this charming film. I
saw this movie on November 11, 2013. “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” is a
humorous movie for children everywhere.
First, this movie is located in Swallow Falls. Next, the time this movie takes place is unknown but
appears to be modern day. So Flint makes a machine that rockets up into space.
The machine rains hamburgers and everyone loves him. The machine starts making
food bigger and eventually there is a huge food storm. Flint, Sam Flint’s
sidekick (Anna Faris), Tim Flint’s father (James Cann), Brent, Flint’s nemesis
(Andy Samberg) Manny, Sam’s camera man (Benjamin Bratt) all must go up into
space and try to shut down the machine.
As to the acting, Bill Hadder did a brilliant job voice acting the
character of Flint. He was very believable job voice acting that role. As for
Anna Faris who voices the character of Sam Sparks was, at times, less
believable, because at times her normal voice as if you were talking to her in a
normal conversation. Lastly, having James Cann voice acting the role of Tim,
Flint’s low voiced, and complex dad, a great decision on Colombia Pictures’
part. In my opinion, Cann did the best job of all of
them.
Overall, I had a good experience watching “Cloudy with a Chance of
Meatballs.” One aspect I liked about the movie was the characters. They fit into
the movie amazingly! The next part I liked about the movie was the animation. It
seemed really real, and there was almost no flaws; like when the hamburgers
rained from the sky. It looked well done and on the big screen it looks amazing!
One thing although, I did not like the fact it was almost nothing like the book!
The characters, the plot, and the fact that the main problem is a machine! I
have read the book and they did a poor job trying to recreating
it!
Fourth, the lesson I learned from this movie was that with every action,
there is a reaction. The reason for that is when Flint shot the machine into the
stratosphere, it rained cheeseburgers. After, then he put in more requests, so
then the machine got bigger, which resulted in the food storm. What I think
people will take away from this movie is that if you think before you do, you
might not be in a disaster.
Finally, I recommend this movie for children ages 8-13. The reason being
the content and the MPAA rating of PG. I personal think this movie is
recommended for those interested in food and cheesy humor, I also cautiously
recommend if you hate cheesy
humor please stay clear away from this movie. My opinon is that if you are
having a lazy day then I think you should see this movie. My overall opinion is
that this movie is a 4 out of 5 stars
overall.

My overall opinion is
that this movie is a 4 out of 5 stars
overall.
You will find a Good Movie With Finding Nemo by Christopher B.
Have you heard the saying "There are plenty of fish in the sea"? Well, in the movie
Finding Nemo there are plenty of fish in the sea in fact there are
hundreds of fish in the sea!
A clownfish named Marlin
meets a lot of them when he tries to find his son Nemo after he was
taken by a diver put into an aquarium in a dental office.
I recently saw the movie on November eighth, 2013. Once again, I was
reminded how much I love this movie and thought it was a heartfelt movie which
all little kids should see.
The story takes place in Sydney Australia, in the year of 2003. Some of
the main characters are Marlin Voiced by Albert Brooks, Nemo voiced by Alexander
Gould, Dory Voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, Crush voiced by Andrew Staton, and the
one and only Bruce voiced by Barry
Humphrys.
All of the actors did a
great job at portraying their characters and I applaud all of them for their
good work. Alexander Gould's role as Nemo first of all as an outstanding
performance as the little defiant fish that is very scared when he gets caught
and ultimately faces death. He expresses many emotions from being scared when he
is caught to being happy when he is reunited with his dad, to even being
bouncing off the wall crazy and exited on his first day of school.
Another character is Albert Brooks' role as Marlin,
another outstanding performance that I applaud, as the dad of the little
defiant fish Nemo, and as the determined father to find his son no matter the
odds. His emotions are also played
very well with him being mad at his son at one moment and very joyful that he
even found his son. He is an
outstanding actor and did an outstanding job. Ellen Degeneres did a great job playing
the voice of Dory. She did a great job of adding the most humor to the movie and
was very good at the role she played as the short term memory loss fish that
cant remember what happened one second ago. The one the only Bruce was a great
characters played by the one the only Barry Humphry's was the most dangerous
characters in the whole movie.
Barry Humphry's should be applauded for the outstanding performance of
the most scary and most dangerous character in the movie.
Last but not least Crush played by Andrew Staton is a very good actor at
the "rad taxi cap" for Dory and Marlin to get them through the Australian
currant to get them to Sydney.
A piece of the movie that I didn't like was the beginning because it
shows Marlin's wife getting killed and I don't think that it is appropriate for
the expected viewer. On the
upside one of the scenes I really like is when the two fish are arguing what
tool the dentist is using to do a root canal and the puffer fish blows up and
rolls away. This is a very
humorous scene which means laugh out loud funny! There are several humorous interactions
between characters throughout the movie and this is another great quality of the
movie. The animation of the fish
and animals is wonderful! The moral
of the story would be to teach you about the power of teamwork, to be brave and
face your fears, and to respect your parents, and most of all, the power of
family and the strong love in a family.
One of the scenes
that the audience will take away from the movie will be when Nemo helps a school
of fish in a magnificent way and even risks his own life for others.
This movie is geared for children of all ages and even has some adult
humor dispersed throughout the movie.
The target audience is 3-5 year olds due to the simple words and story
line. The movie is rated G and is
a family "must see"!
It should be rated 5 out of 5 stars.
This review is written by Christopher Biermann. A sixth grader at St.
Joseph Catholic school, and a true music artist. He plays the piano, sings, and plays

“Who ya gonna call!” By Alexis L.
“Ghost Busters” is an exciting movie that will make your opinion
on how “ghosts aren’t real.” Change I saw this movie on 11/11/13 and didn’t
regret it! Columbia films did a “busting” job on creating a movie the whole
family can enjoy!
The story begins in Manhattan during the 1980s when a group of friends
venkman (bill Murray) Stanz (Dan Akyroyd) and Spengler (Harold ramis)
investigate ghosts that are appearing in New York City. Ghost busters have the
tools to “bust” them witch means to suck them into a holding tank. They create a
business to help people by capturing ghosts. They find that the root of all the
ghosts is in Dana Barret’s (Sigourney Weaver)
refrigerator.
The main characters are Venkman (Bill Murray) - the one who
likes Dana Barret, Stanz (Dan Akroyd) -the not so witty one. Last Spengler
(Harold Ramis) the smart one with the good plans. I think all of the main actors
did a superior job on their roles. The special effects were really cool
especially the Mesopotamia god.
My overall movie experience was great! I especially liked the fun
costumes and the funny plot. I didn’t like the African American man who didn’t
fit in. A lesson or theme in this
movie was “work together”. The ghost busters had to work together even though
they might die.
Demographics were for people who like comedy and adventure. I don’t
recommend this movie for small children as some parts might be inappropriate.

“Monsters University” is a Family Friendly Scare! by Cailean
Have you ever wondered where the monster under your bed got its
education? This family film, viewed by this reviewer, is about two monsters and
there college adventures. “Monsters University” is a family film for everyone!
First, Monsters University, takes place in modern time, involves the top
two main characters Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal) and James B. Sullivan aka
“Sully” (John Goodman). Other characters that are close to the main characters
are: Art (Charlie Day), Don (Joel Murray), and Squishy (Peter Sohn). The two
“freshies” Mike and Sully meet officially after Sully has stolen the mascot of
another university and hid in Mike’s room. Now Art, Don, and Squishy are a part
of feternity home O.K (Oz-a-Kampa). Sully and Mike join O.K to compete in the
scare games. The scare games are challenges to see who has what it takes to be a
scarer
The reviewer’s opinion of Billy Crystal’s acting is that his voice fit,
showed humor, and generally didn’t have a scary voice because the looks and
voice fit together. John Goodman’s voice fit the character and so did the
personality. He sounded younger because of his actions and how the personality
and voice fit. Lastly, the reviewer’s opinion for Peter Sohn’s acting is that
his voice and actions fit is personality because he is so
innocent.
Overall, the reviewer movie experience is that she likes the animation
story line, characters, and the sound effects. The story just fit together like
a puzzle piece. One dislike in the reviewer’s opinion was the extra, non-needed
parts like when they show a monster, really slow and snail-like, rushing to
school right after the bell rings. There isn’t much to
dislike.
Fourth, the two lessons that came to mind are never give up and follow
you dreams. People will take away the “underdog” and “turtle and hare” part of
the story.
In terms of an audience, I recommend the age would be 4+ and is mainly a
movie for families. The reviewer doesn’t recommend this movie for action-lovers
because it barely has any action scenes. This movie is rated G. and I give it a 4 ¾ out of
5.

The Avengers by Aidan
If you’re looking for a fantastic, action, and comedy movie, goes see Marvel’s “The Avengers.” The five main characters are Iron Man, (Robert Downy Jr) Captain America, (Chris Evans) Bruce Banner or the Hulk, (Mark Raifolo) Thor, (Chris Hemsworth) and Natasha. (Scarlett Johansson) In this movie Loki, Thor’s brother steals the tesseract. (The key to infinite power.) So Fury calls Iron Man, Captain America, Bruce Banner, and Natasha to stop Loki. Then Thor helps them to stop Loki. This movie is for is for kids 7 years old and up because everyone likes super hero movies. The things in this movie that I loved were the actors because they made it look like real thing. Another thing I liked was the story because it was engaging. I also liked the editing in this movie. One thing I didn’t like was that I thought they needed more characters like Spider Man. The lesson in this movie is to work together. I would give this movie five stars out of five.
King Arthur at Avalon High:Brings the World Out of the Darkness by Erin O.
Do you like mystery and history? If so you will like the movie Avalon High. People who like magic, adventures, sword fights and romance will like this movie. So grab your popcorn, soda and Raisinets to settle into a fun family movie.
In the movie the main character of Avalon High is Alli played by Britt Robinson. She goes to Avalon High and meets Will (Greg Sulkin), Myles (Joey Polari), and Marco (Devon Graye). Her mom (Molly Quinn) and dad (Dan Lake) have a quest to find the reincarnation of King Arthur. With her parents and friends help she finds out who the reincarnation of everyone is at their school. Together they bring the world out of darkness with King Arthurs help.
This movie, Avalon High, has great acting and the story really grabs you. It is a five star entertainment that is perfect for all ages. The only negative feature is the armor does not look realistic and could have been done better. One of the lessons in the movie is you can trust close friends and family no matter what. Personally, Avalon High really grabbed me for it had friendship, constant action and history, which I like in a movie.
"Narnia" by Lauren N.
Unless you’ve seen the movie “Narnia” then you don’t know way most viewers are giving it a thumbs up. In the beginning of the movie the siblings Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy are sent to the Professors house because of the war over their home. Then Lucy (played by Georgie Henly) finds the magical land of in a wardrobe in the spear room. Her siblings Peter (William Mosely), Susan (Anna Popplewell), and Edmund (Skandor Kegnes), don’t believe her… until the walk right into the land while hiding from the creedy.
All movies have negatives and positives but, in “ Narnia” there are few negatives. One negative is for people that can’t sit still for that long find it A little hard to sit through. The acting is incredible except for one crying scene and it looked like the actor was smiling and crying. The effects are perfect and are beautiful for the movie. There are many positives in this breathe taking film but, one I can point out is the adventure is so intense that you feel like your there. One more thing the scenery choices a were perfect for this movie.
This movie is one of my favorite movies and my over all opinion is that this movie is fantastic. My rating is a four star fabulous movie. The lesson and moral I received from this movie was don’t be mean to your siblings they might really be affected by what you do to them. The audience for this movie should be 7+, because there are violent scenes and it’s a little hard to under stand some parts. That is the reason that viewers give tis movie a thumbs up.

A 'Tail' to Remember by Grace
There were so many things I liked about the movie "Dolphin Tale." It is about a boy named Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) who finds an injured dolphin on the beach. The marine hospital takes the dolphin. Sawyer visits the dolphin the next day and meets Hazel (Cozi Zuehlsdorff), a volunteer at the marine hospital and the daughter of Dr. Clay Haskett (Harry Connick Jr.), the manager of the marine hospital. The dolphin, Winter (played by herself ) loses her tail. She and Sawyer are great friends. She remembers Sawyer from the beach and gets excited and makes a certain noise every time she sees him. Unfortunately, Winter develops a side-to-side motion with her lower body that will eventually kill her. Meanwhile, Sawyer's cousin, Kyle, who was injured in the army is at a recovery place where Dr. Cameron McCarthy makes fake limbs for people. The doctor ends up trying to make a new tail for Winter. Some exciting points in the movie are when Sawyer finds Winter, and when Winter tries on the third tail. This part is the climax because everyone is holding their breath, waiting to see if she likes it.
I liked just about everything in this movie . The acting was awesome! A good example for that would be when Sawyer swims with Winter. I liked how they had Winter herself in the movie because I love movies with animals in them. I loved the underwater parts of the movie. Sometimes they would show the movie from Winter's point of view, which you'll have to watch the movie to see how awesome it is. The scenery was a beach town in Florida. It was not really noticeable, more of a background than a setting.
My overall opinion of the movie would be that families would like it (maybe not little kids), and people with disabilities would too because the main character learns to live with a disability. I would give this movie three and a half out of four stars because it was interesting, funny, and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I think a good theme/moral for this story would be to not give up. The movie "Dolphin Tale" is based on the true story of Winter. Like before , this is a tale, and tail, you won't forget.

"Daddy Day Care" by Amira
“Daddy Day Care” (The wildest day care you will ever see)
Imagine if you lost your job and opened a day care center full of the craziest kids. Well in “daddy day care” two people named Charlie (Eddie Murphy) and Phil (Jeff Garln) opened a day care center when Charlie looses his job. Charlie’s idea is cleaver but Phil and Charlie have some difficulties along the way. An example of one of the struggles they had was that there were so many obnoxious and loud kids to look after. Their friend Marvin (Steve Zahn) had to step in to help take care of the kids. Although, Charlie was happy to open the Daddy Day Care center because he lost his job and in order to spend more time with his son Ben (Khamane Griffen) and his wife Kim (Regina King), unfortunately, she had to go back to work to help provide for the family. Will Charlie, Phil and Marvin be able to survive this wild day care? Hope you watch it to find out. Some positives and negatives about the movie are that their acting was very believable, like when Ben was acting he was sad. The scenes were very detailed, for example the bugs on the food in the fair scene. The only thing I would like to see different about Daddy Day Care is that Charlie’s son Ben had more lines.
The moral to “Daddy day care” is even though you might not get things that you want to accomplish the first time, you need to keep on trying to achieve them. I would give “Daddy Day care 4 out of 5 stars because it was hilarious and an entertaining movie to watch because it presented real life situation that are very common in kids. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has a family and like comedies or just wants to have a laugh.

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005) by Hayden
This movie has several parts, which show constant action and special effects.
The thrilling movie, “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” has two main characters named Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor). There is also Natalie Portman as Padme and Ian McDiarmid as Lord Sidious of the Sith. The fifth main character is Samuel Jackson as Mace Windu. Mainly, this story’s plot is about staying on the path of what’s good and what’s right? An example of this is when someone tries to persuade you to do evil; but you instead do what is right.
I really thought that this movie was extraordinary because of the multiple battles going on throughout the film. I also enjoyed it because of its special effects, especially at the beginning in the battle over Coruscant. There are multiple stories going on at the same time, but they do a fine job switching between them. This helps to keep you up to date with what’s going on. The music (orchestra) is also amazing and fits every scene perfect. When the dark parts of the movie arrive you can only hear the music in the background and it really adds to the drama.
Finally, I really thought it was a fantastic movie as a whole. This movie will be enjoyable for 11 year olds through adults. The movie helped me to learn that you may be tempted by evil but must stay in the light. I would defiantly give this wonderful movie four stars. So, go see “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” , you will be happy you did.
Star Wars is truly an out of this world film!!!!!

Dark Shadows by Sophie
If you are looking for a thrilling movie about a vampire who gets cursed by a hideous creature, thank Dark Shadows is just right for you!
This movie is about a vampire, Barnabas Collins (Johnny Depp) who was cursed by a jealous witch. Two centuries later he woke up out of his coffin and returned home, where his family used to live, but now different people live there from his family. Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Mortez) was Elizabeth Collins (Michelle Pfeiffer) daughter who was very stubborn in this film. Angelique Bouchard (Eva Green) was the evil witch who cursed Barnabas Collins into being a vampire. The major conflict in this movie was that Angelique Bouchard was jealous of another girl who was in love with Barnabas Collins.
The positives and negatives of this movie are, the acting of Barnabas Collins/ as a vampire, because they mad some really good makeup effects. The backgrounds and scenery was really amazing though. Especially the castle because the castle was not modern, like it was is the 70’s time. The acting of Carolyn Stoddard was definitely by far the best because of her attitude and her face’s that she made during the movie.
My overall opinion of this movie is really thrilling and humorous. My overall lesson learned was, to follow what you love. I would suggest this movie to ages 13 and up, because of some inappropriate scenes and violence in this movie.
For these many reasons I would definitely watch this movie again with a friend.

If I Could Talk to the Animals by Bobby
In the movie Zookeeper, Griffin (Kevin James), the zookeeper, tries to change himself to please Stephanie (Leslie Bibb). Stephanie is Griffin’s girlfriend that he proposed to five years ago and got rejected. When he tries asking her out again, Stephanie’s ex-boyfriend, Gale (Joe Rogan), gets in the way. Along his journey, Griffin gets to know Kate. Kate (Rosario Dawson), who works with Griffin at the zoo, helps Griffin save a female lion’s life. In return, the animals try to help Griffin ask Stephanie out again. First, Griffin is very scared that the animals can talk, but then he gets used to it. The only animal that doesn’t talk in the first part of the movie is Bernie, the gorilla (Nick Nolte). In the end, Griffin realizes he shouldn’t change himself to please someone else.
My opinion of this movie was that it contains a lot of positives. The acting in this movie was wonderful. The actors were really believable and they picked the right actors to do the movie. The zookeeper looked like one you would see in real life. The special effects in this movie were spectacular. The animals were a big part of the special effects. They were very realistic. The scenery in this movie captured sights of New York City. It was beautiful. There was one thing in this movie that could have been improved. They could have included more animals talking in the movie, because the animals they did have talking did not look fake.
Zookeeper was very entertaining. I loved the part where Griffin realizes that he shouldn’t change himself to please someone else. I would give this movie 4.5 out of 5 stars because they could have added more animals talking. I think this movie is for anyone who likes a good laugh and is 9-years-old or older.

Ella Enchanted by Amy
Ella Enchanted is full of several adventures and enchantment. The main characters in this movie are Ella (Anne Hathaway), Prince Charmont (Hugh Dancy), Hattie (Lucy Punch), Edgar (Cary Elwes), and Slannen (Aiden McArdle). The plot of this tale is that there once was a girl with a spell of obedience cast upon her by her fairy godmother Lucinda. As she grows up good and bad things come down her path. The audience that would like this movie would be 6-11 year-old’s (mostly girls). I do not think boys would like this more because this movie has a relation to Cinderella. I also think that some 12-13 year old might like this movie (again mostly girls). What I manly liked about this movie is that the actors really fit the person they play in the movie. I didn’t like that at the end of the movie it said that they lived a happy life together as husband and wife (Ella and Prince Charmont). I wanted to know how they lived their life happily. I wanted to know if Prince Charmont became King or if not. The producers of Ella Enchanted should make Ella Enchanted 2!!!!!!!!!!!! The moral of the story is that we need to use our own minds to choose right from wrong; not just to have others tell us right from wrong. I would give this 10 out of 10 stars. This movie is adventurous, fun and delightful. Leonard Maltin says, “This is my definition of Family Entertainment!” Ilene Abramson, Los Angeles Times says “Charming and Funny!” For all these reasons and more you should see this movie please watch the movie!!!!!!!!!
"The Hunger Games" by Madyson
The Hunger Games Movie Review
“The Hunger Games” will make you laugh out loud and be thrilled way more than you can imagine! The movie “The Hunger Games” stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen, Josh Hutcherson as Peeta Melarck, and Liam Hensworth As Gale. A few other Characters are Alexander Ludwig as Cato, Woody Crivitz as Haymitch, and finally Amanda Stenberg as Rue. The Movie “The Hunger Games” is about sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen who volunteers for her 12 year old sister who get chosen for the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games is a live T.V show that has hidden cameras in an outdoor arena. The head district “The Capitol” takes one man and women from each district to be in the hunger games and fight to the death until only one is left and crowned victor, and will live a life of luxury. Will Katniss survive or will she die a painful death!
I would recommend this movie to around kids 10 and up because it’s not scary but it does show some killing scenes that some people may not like and it real rating is pg. 13. In my opinion this movie is spectacular! Not to mention, it’s a worldwide phenomenon! I love the scene when Katniss runs to the cornucopia and grabs her most needed object and gets in a fight with clove (another tribute). This is just one scene in the movie there are many more and you will just have to watch them yourself! The only aspect of this movie I didn’t like was at the beginning of the movie the mayors Daughter Madge is supposed to give her the Mocking Jay pin and she buys it instead, so I believe that will really affect the second movie if they make another one. I think the moral of this story would be when times are hard keep going because if you do you will be rewarded.
The rating I would give this movie is a 5 star because it’s just an outstanding movie even though they didn’t put a few critical aspects but the movie was still fantastic! Over all it’s just a phenomenal movie got amazing theatrical stunts as well as casting the parts, and a great director, Gary Ross, I love it! If you want an exciting, thrilling, funny, romantic, and dramatic movie this is one for you! To conclude this review I would like to say that if you seem interested you must be hungry for the hunger games, so hurry on over to the store and buy it today! Thank you, M.E.A.

Made of Honor Movie Review
Hey, do you like funny romance movies? Well this is the movie for you. This movie is about a guy named Tom, who is Hannah’s best friend. Tom noticed that he has feelings for Hannah, but something happened that Hannah needs to go to Ireland to visit her family. But on her way back, Hannah gets a boyfriend named Felix . Felix proposed to Hannah and there planning to get married. Tom is upset. Will Tom forget about her? Or will he crash the wedding? What I liked about the movie is the people who are playing the roles because they have a lot of facial expression in their acting that will make you laugh. The only thing I did not like was the setting ,which is placed in Ireland. For me, it did not fit in the movie because the place is not compatible and the scenery is not so appealing . The lesson in this movie is, if you have feelings for someone tell them, don’t be afraid. I think 14+ will like this movie because it is a comedy romantic. Overall despite the setting I will give this movie a 4 out of 5 stars.

“Despicable Me” Movie Review by Vanessa
“Despicable Me” Movie Review
If you need some humor in your life, then watch the world’s funniest movie on earth: “Despicable Me!”
This animated movie is about an evil scientist named Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) who adopts three orphaned girls named Margo, Edith, and Agnes (voiced by Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Elise Fisher) to help Gru became the “World’s Greatest Villain” against his new enemy, Vector (voiced by Jason Segal). Even though “Despicable Me” is an animated movie, ages 8 and under can’t watch it because it has some violence.
“Despicable Me” is non-stop funny! Agnes will “die” if she doesn’t have a unicorn, Gru’s minions are hilarious, and even Gru was funny when he read the girl’s bedtime story! The special effects were awesome, too! When Gru uses his Fireball Blaster to knock down a little alien, the whole arcade explodes! After the arcade exploded, the man who worked there was shaking when he gave Agnes her fluffy unicorn. How funny is that?
The voices in this movie are awesome, too! Vector’s voice doesn’t sound like Jason Segal’s. It sounds like someone else’s. Agnes’ voice is the perfect voice of a little girl. Because of these reasons, the rating of “Despicable Me” is 5 out of 5 stars.
I like “Despicable Me” because it is hilarious! If you are in a bad mood, this movie will cheer you up! You will laugh so hard your sides will ache! One funny scene is when Gru’s minions were copying one of the minion’s butt! Isn’t that hilarious? “Despicable Me” is a movie you have to see! The lesson of this animated movie is that you will always be loved and cared for by your special guardian: your parents. Even if you are an orphan, the adult will always love and care for you and never give you away.
So there you have it! These are the reasons why “Despicable Me” is the funniest movie in the world!

Brave by Stefan
The movie Brave is an intense, touching, and hilarious story and it is a good choice for 5 to 12 year olds. The main characters are Merida (Kelly McDonald), King Fergus (Billy Conolly), Queen Elinor(Emma Thompsan), Lord McGuffin(Kevin McKidd), Lord Dingwall(Robey Coltrane). The movie tells a story of a girl named Merida who needs to get married, but doesn’t want to because she wants to be free and go in the wild and shoot her bow and arrow. So she gets mad at her mom and runs away and encounters this blue, floating, ghost like things called Wisps and they lead her to a witch who gives Merida a spell that looks like a cake. What she doesn’t know is that it is a cake that changes her life. It turns her mom into a bear, but her dad lost his leg to a bear so he hates bears. Merida and her mom run away into a forest to save the mom’s life and were chased by everyone in the castle.
I recommend this movie to 5 to 12 year olds because some parts are babyish like when the little boys were stealing cookies and 12 years old because of the fighting. I liked this movie because it was an intense adventures movie like when Merida’s mom was fighting a bear. A spoiler would be that Elinor turns back into a human. The lesson is to always obey your parents, because if Merida would have just listened then none of that would have happened. The pun would be “You won’t be afraid after you see ‘Brave.” Because of the action packed family story, I recommend “Brave”.

The Avengers by Gillian
The Avengers was a fun and adventurous movie because it had a lot of action and it was very unique in its own way. This movie is about a bunch of super heroes who come together and form a group called the Avengers to fight an energy source called the tesaract and Thor’s evil (Adopted) brother Lokiy. The characters are Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) Captain America (Chris Evans) The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) Thor (Chris Hemsworth) Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Nick Fury who is (Samuel L. Jackson). The movie had a lot of action, it was very well set up, and it was very adventurous. For example: An exciting part of the movie was when Lokiy opened the portal to the tesaract and all of the people from the evil planet came pouring in. People that are 11+ would like this movie a lot. Overall this film wassuccessful I really liked this movie a lot. My favorite part of this movie was when Hulk kept smashing Lokiy to the ground and walked away saying “Puny God.” There wasn’t anything that I disliked about this movie because there were a lot of things that were interesting about this movie. The lesson I learned about this movie is that you can always accomplish things with teamwork. This film was very entertaining because it wasn’t over the top it wasn’t overwhelming, and there wasn’t so much action that you got really scared. I gave this movie five stars because I liked all the stunts they did, all the action, and all the special effects because it made the movie that much better of a movie. The Avengers was a unique adventurous movie that was full of action and special effects.
Avengers--Full of Vengeance by Myles
Avengers – Full of Vengeance
An Action Packed Adventure!
If you like adventure and action then watch the Avengers. The movie is about a god named Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who gets an army of aliens and plots to destroy and rule the Earth. Unfortunately for him a group of Super Hero’s , Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Hulk (Mark Raffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth)the brother god of Loki, Hawk Eye (Jeremy Renner) and Captain America (Chris Evans), try to work as a team to destroy the army of aliens.
Some major scenes in the movie are when Loki uses mind control and gets enough people so that he opens a portal to his alien army and brings them to Earth. Another part Thor tries to kill Loki (his brother) for trying to overthrow him back on their world but he is not successful and Loki escapes.
There were a lot of positives in the movie. The acting was very believable and the effects were very well done. The setting for the scenes changed rapidly and showed the best of special effects and real places around the world. This movie gets 4 stars because the action was fantastic, and the aliens got their butts kicked! The lesson learned in this movie was you can do anything with teamwork. When the Avengers finally united as a team nothing could stop them.
Young adults and people who like action will like this movie because it is packed with action!

Welcome to Hotel Transylvania by Meileen
Welcome to Hotel Transylvania!
This is the most hysterical, yet touching, animated film I’ve seen, especially about monsters! This is the tale of Dracula’s (Adam Sandler) daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez), celebrating her 118th birthday. Dracula invites world famous monsters such as Frankenstein (Kevin James), the Mummy (CeeLo Green), Invisible man, and a family of werewolves to his hotel: Hotel Transylvania. He originally built it to so Mavis could be safe from humans that killed his wife. Everything is going smoothly at the hotel celebrations until a human (Andy Samberg) comes! Dracula first finds him and disguises him as Frankenstein’s cousin and tries to get rid of him as soon as possible. Before he could, Mavis runs into Jonathan the human and they start to develop feelings for each other. Everyone at the hotel meets him and likes him and soon Dracula doesn’t know what to do! If anyone found out a human was there, they would leave and never come back. The reason monsters come to stay is so they can relax without being worried about humans. All of the voice actors fit their characters and were very accurate. Dracula sounded like a grown vampire and Jonathan sounded like a mellow teenage human. There was a lot of humor throughout the movie which was very funny. Though it was entertaining, the plot was simple and not that exciting. It was touching that Dracula wanted to keep Mavis safe and wanted her to be a daddy’s girl. The main moral is to not judge from the outside as well as don’t be too clingy to someone because sometimes you have to let them go. I would rate it two and a half stars. Although the plot was dull, the movie was hilarious and overall entertaining. I would suggest this film to mostly kids and people who like humor. This is the best animated movie I’ve seen.

“Soul Surfer” Will Touch Your Soul by Ali K.
“Soul Surfer” Will Touch Your Soul
Any preteen or adult that wants to see an emotional story should see “Soul Surfer.” Bethany Hamilton (Anna Sophia Robb) is attacked by a shark and loses her arm. Since she is a world class surfer the story shows her struggles in getting back in the water. Having one arm is very difficult and Bethany faces many challenges. Her parents, Sharon Hamilton (Helen Hunt) and Tom Hamilton (Dennis Quaid) are a huge help when it comes to doing stuff with one arm. Her best friend Alana Blanchard (Lorraine Nicholson) and her youth pastor Sarah (Carrie Underwood) also help her rediscover herself. “Soul Surfer” is filled with many positive aspects, but a few scenes limit its viewers. The story line was engaging, especially knowing it is based on a true story. The acting was realistic and during sad scenes you could see true emotion on their faces. The shark attack was very graphic and it looked real. Due to this, the audience is limited for people over 9 years old. I thought this movie was wonderful except for the shark attack, which is why I give it 3½ stars. This movie taught me to never give up and trust that God has a plan for everyone. “Soul Surfer” will take you on a wave of emotions.

“Despicable Me”
If you love hilarious jokes then watch “Despicable Me”! The movie “Despicable Me” is about a villain named Gru who wants to be the greatest villain ever. The characters are Gru (Steve Carrel), Vector (Jason Segal) Doctor Nafario (Russell Brand), Margo (Miranda Cosgrove) and Gru’s mom (Julie Andrews). Gru finds out that someone stole a pyramid in Egypt and now is claiming to be the best villain ever. After hearing that news, Gru wants to have that great title. Gru makes up a plan that he thinks will earn him that great title. I think any age group would like this movie because kids will like the animation and older people will like the silly lines like when the little orphan girl Agnes calls a unicorn “so fluffy”. This movie teaches a moral lesson while being really funny. Overall, I liked the funny lines and the characters. I did not like the fact that Gru gave back the orphan girls he adopted so that he could steal the moon. The moral lesson of this movie is to think of other people before yourself. I would give this movie 4 out of 4 stars. One example why I primarily gave it 4 out of 4 stars is because their lines were very detailed. Another example is their screen appearance was very detailed. I think this funny animated film is the best movie ever created.

The Rise to Being Bieber by Joey D.
This movie is a biography about Justin Bieber’s his rise to fame and it helps you get to know him. Justin’s dad left him when he was only 10 months old. Justin’s mom (Pattie Lynn Mallette) realized that Justin was musical at age two. He banged on chairs and sung throughout the house. But when Justin got a little bit older at age four, he was almost hypnotized by his moms friends when they would come over and play music. Justin especially watched the drummer.
When he started to get famous in 2007, when Justin’s mom posted the first video of Justin singing. The people that watched it requested more and more songs. Finally a music producer saw the video in 2010. His name is Scooter Braun, and he did a tremendous amount of research to find the number the Justin’s house. Scooter said that he would fly them to Atlanta, Georgia to meet with him and if they didn’t want to sign he would still pay for everything. So Justin’s mom accepted. Justin meets Usher and sang to him and after that he signed with Usher. Usher then immediately wanted to make a song and get the word out to fans and everybody about Justin, and then Justin’s first official song (“One Time“) released.
A couple positives about this movie is you see the real Justin and not a scripted fake version of him. It also shows his story of getting famous and him begging when he was so young. You also got to see never before seen home video clips of Justin back stage, at home, and where he performed for others. You also got to see some other famous people that helped Justin out in his songs and concerts such as Miley Cyrus, Jaden Smith, and Ludacris. Some negatives about this movie is that it got very boring at the end. It was repetitive, because he was just performing at the end. There was no really good information at the end of the movie, because it was just him performing. What the movie is basically trying to say is “try your hardest at whatever you do.”
I would recommend this movie to girls five to forty five, because a lot of girls are crazy over Justin Bieber. And I would also encourage someone to watch that doesn’t like him, because it will make the viewer have a respect for him. I would give this movie a three and a half out of four stars, because I think if other people watched it that they would enjoy the film and have respect for Justin. Also, this would be an inspirational movie for someone that wants to get into music because it shows his true story and he succeeds. Justin is a bright high energy boy with an amazing talent, and made a great career out of playing music and singing.
Star Trek by Josh B.
Star Trek: The first Contact
Star trek; The First Contact, is a Sci-Fi adventure film that many people were waiting for a long time and many were eager to see it. Here is why Star Trek is a great movie. The movie came out in November, 1996 and was a fast ticket seller. It made a lot of money and came out after star trek stopped playing the TV show. The main event in the story is when Jean Luc Picard and his crew later disobey their orders to protect earth in case a species might attack. Meanwhile, everyone else goes to fight the Borg, a both organic and machine species that takes over other species to make themselves stronger. Jean Luc Picard then disobeys orders and helps out when everyone else is failing to defend. Being a extremely powerful ship, his ship, the Enterprise, destroys the Borg cube (yes a flying cube) and all that is left is a small core sphere that time-travels into the past and attempts to destroy the first ship that can go at the speed of light, which leads to many other things like discovering aliens (later mentioned), the Borg take over a deck in their ship. The ship sends a few people to make sure that the flight will still happen but when the Borg take over all communications the team is stuck. The flight must happen at a precise time because a friendly alien race, the Spock, come down to earth because of the great achievement. Meanwhile, the crew must fight them off and save themselves and all of humanity. Jean Luc Picard is played by Jean Luc Picard and Data a human looking android, played by Brent Spiner are the main characters.
The movie was very well presented and comes in Blue-Ray also. The camera work is also very good but may have filmed a few too many things because there are a few unnecessary parts. The acting and special affects were fantastic! The Borg moved and looked extremely real because they should move slow and like a robot because of their machine parts and the ship looked awesome! Data, the android, acted and made lots of comments like a real computer and he learned emotions. It was kind of funny. The sounds and explosions looked real to. The special affects were so great, I might watch the movie just to see the special affects!
I would recommend this movie to an extreme amount, and say most people would love it but mostly all of the star trek fans. I enjoyed this movie a lot and think you might to. All the scenes looked good and the Enterprise looked really awesome. I would recommend it to anybody who could understand it because at parts there is a lot to take in. So some people could get confused about what is going on because of why this is happening. Star trek fans would need to see this movie or they would miss so much. I personally, do to the good acting, special affects and great plot, would give it an easy four out of four stars as a rating, two thumbs up! Star Trek: The first Contact, is a great film and would encourage you to go to your nearest movie store, look in the action or sci-fi section, check it out, make some popcorn, and enjoy this great film.

Harry Potter by Luke
Movie Review by Luke George
Have you watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince yet? If you want to know an overall description of the film, READ THIS! Overall, the movie was enjoyable. The movie is based on the famous book series written by J. R. Rowling. The series is one of the most popular book series and is translated into more than sixty-seven languages. There are seven books in the series and The Half-Blood Prince is the sixth.
This book is about a boy named Harry who comes from a family of wizards and witches and has many adventures. The Half-Blood Prince has an enjoyable plot - there are epic battle scenes, humorous jokes and a somewhat tragic ending. The characters Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) face many challenges as they approach their last year at the magic school Hogwarts. As the war for control of the world is about to begin, Harry and his friends must stop the evil Voldemort and the Death-Eaters from taking control of the wizard world.
The camera work is astonishing. The scenes make you feel like you were there. The scenes range from tragic to beautiful. Special effects, sound effects, and the overall picture are all high-quality. Because it is a fantasy film the use of sound and video effects is very powerful. Magical spells, wand effects and of course, the strange creatures used in the film are very believable and accurate as if they were real. The acting is also superb. The characters are precise to the original series and look pretty close to the book illustrations. The acting is very believable. I would recommend this to people who have watched all the Harry Potter movies or if they read all the books. It is rated PG (parental guidance) for scary images, some violence, language and mild sensuality. I would recommend this to kids 10 and up or even younger if the child has seen or read any of the books or movies in the series. However, the images may be frightening for younger kids. Violence is not as bad as the images, but should not be taken lightly as it could lead to nightmares and violent actions. I enjoyed the film, but feel it was not the best of the series. There are many memorable scenes that would soon put together the "puzzles" for the seventh and final movie. If I were to edit the movie a bit, I would use more humor and make the movie longer. Usually, the book is better than the movie because it is longer and more entertaining. I would add longer scenes, more battles, and scenes that were deleted from the book. Overall, the movie was pretty good but has its faults. I agree with the rating of PG and I recommend this to people who like an epic, entertaining movie. If you are a Harry Potter fan you will love this movie.

Remember the Titans by Peter
Movie Review
Have you seen a movie that has blown youre socks off latlely ? If not, you should watch the movie Remember the Titans is a real story that happened in the early 1970s. Usually I don’t like movies about real things that happened, but this one is outstanding. It has fantastic acting, humor, and heart. It is about racism in Virginia and how a black football coach brings a football team of black and white high school kids together for the first time. This also affects the town because they come to realize that race doesn’t matter. The movie also explains that this was the first time that blacks and whites went to school together in Virginia. Neither blacks nor whites wanted to be in school together.
The acting makes the movie. Denzel Washington steals the show as Coach Herman Boone because he’s dramatic and intense, which is the kind of personality the coach had. Ryan Gosling is outstanding as Allen, a quiet music-loving kid. Will Payton is also fantastic as Bill Yoast, the white assistant coach. He ends up being the bridge between the players and the coach. The movie has a good sense of humor that you will laugh at and will raise your spirits. The humor also breaks up the seriousness of the plot of the movie. One example is when Ronnie Bass first appears to talk to the coaches with his dad. The players tell him he needs to get a haircut and walk away. At that point, he grabs a football and chucks it from 50 yards. His aim is dead on, and he hits the player who made the comment in the back of the head. They all realize what a great quarterback he will be and accept him on the team.
I really enjoyed the way they mix the humor in with somewhat serious plot. The plot is about racism, so it isn’t the happiest film ever, but it isn’t dark either. This movie avoids being depressing by being humorous and uplifting. The team comes together in the end and wins the state championship. That’s part of why I love this movie. Just don’t go into this movie expecting the lightest movie ever.
My favorite scene is when “Sunshine,” or Ronnie Bass, who is the second string white quarterback is called out on the field because the first-string black quarterback is intentionally hurt by one of his white teammates, Ray, because he didn’t block the lineman. In his first play, Ronnie tells his teammate to let the same lineman get through. The lineman chases after him. Sunshine quickly gets rid of the ball and bends down so that the lineman flips over him. The coach on the other team says, “That’s a penalty, Ref, unnecessary roughness.” The Ref says, “On a quarterback coach? Are you kidding me?” That scene is a good example of the racism in the movie because the black quarterback gets intentionally hurt by one of his white teammates, but the white second-string quarterback is there to back him up and ends up winning the game for them.
If I have a complaint, it is that the movie can be a little cliché sometimes. An example is when the first game they play is against the Hayfield Hawks. They barely win, but later in the movie they play them again and you know from the beginning that it is going to be a blowout, because of how well the team is playing at that point in the season. That happens a lot in other sports films.
Overall, this movie is an amazing and fantastic film. You don’t just have to be a sports fan to watch this movie. You can just be a fan of movies in general. If you’re looking for a good movie, try this one. It is one of the best movies of the decade. I give this movie 4 stars.

Matilda by Cindy
Matilda
Definitely 4 stars!
Matilda is a film that deserves 4 stars. It was created in 1996 and based on a book written by Roald Dahl (also one of the producers of the film); who also wrote Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and James and the Giant Peach. With such a good message and plot idea, I expected the movie to be sweet, humorous, and magical. I loved it when I was a kid and wanted to see what I would think of it now. This comedy/family/fantasy film shows people that a little magic goes a long way, even if you are a little kid. This film is about a young girl named Matilda Wormwood (played by Mara Wilson), who is misunderstood by her ignorant and obnoxious family. If they paid attention, they would realize that she is an extraordinary child. Matilda loved to read. She would go to the library every day and come home with a pile of books; even though her parents disapproved. She could also calculate complicated math problems in her head easily. After convincing her parents to let her go to school, Matilda meets Ms. Trunchbull. Ms. Trunchbull (played by Pam Ferris) is probably the worst principal in the world. She loves to humiliate her students and punish them. Matilda must overcome her parent’s ridicule and get revenge for her classmates while using her mysterious powers. She must also get revenge for her kind and loving teacher, who has unfinished business with Ms. Trunchbull. Her parents are played by Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. Danny DeVito is also the movie’s Narrator, Director, and he is one of the Producers. Her teacher, Miss Honey is played by Embeth Davidtz.
The camerawork was a big element of this film. It was very interesting and playful. The camera would be placed above or below eye level to make the characters look big and small. At times, the scene would be intense and scary. Then, it would change into a hilarious and fun-filled scene. They would also exaggerate speeds to make things funnier and fictional. Green screens were also used to make things look like they floated in the air. A green screen is a large green sheet that can be programmed to look like something else and hide or camouflage it. Even though it isn’t the best, I still enjoyed this film very much. I say this because this is an old film. It might not be as popular or able to compare to the new and sophisticated movies. It was very touching and had a good storyline. I would recommend this film to anyone that wants to watch a high-quality movie. There really is no age limit. It would be a great way to spend time with your family and friends. Kids will love it and adults will laugh and enjoy it too (if not more). I compare this film to Nanny McPhee because of their identical atmospheres and heartwarming messages. Overall, Matilda is a fantastic film that every person should see.

Charlie Brown Halloween by Stephen
“It’s the great pumpkin Charlie Brown!” This famous phrase came from Sally Brown, Charlie Browns little sister. Charlie Brown Halloween was a great movie. It was funny and classic. My favorite scene is when Charlie Brown gets a rock at one house when he is out trick- or-treating. The look on his face was of great disappointment and disbelief, because everyone else was getting candy. The reason it is my favorite scene is because I can relate to it in so many ways. I can imagine what it would be like to get a rock on Halloween because I too have had that happen to me. A couple of years ago I was out trick or treating and someone slipped a rock into my bag of candy. An example of when I get bad things for Halloween is I always get at least one house that gives me dental floss or tooth paste. I really expected the movie to be childish, immature, and not for me, but the movie was surprisingly entertaining. The main thing about the plot is it is Halloween and the legend of a great pumpkin. Linus and Sally are the only peanut gang members who believe in him. The rest of the peanuts crew goes trick-or-treating and they get a lot of candy, however, Linus and Sally don’t get any because they are in the pumpkin fields instead of going trick or treating. The protagonists are Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Sally and my personal favorite, Snoopy. The voice actors of the characters are Peter Robins as Charlie Brown, Sally Dryer as Lucy Van Pelt, Christopher Shea as Linus Van Pelt, Bill Mendelez as Snoopy, and Kathy Steinberg as Sally Brown. The camera work was tremendous. There were no awkward angles, but the animation was a little bad. I know it was made in 1966, but they could have done a better job with the mouth movements when they were talking. I would recommend this movie to all ages, 4 or 94. This move has something for everyone and I don’t think you could be too young or too old to fully enjoy the experience. I enjoyed the entire movie. My most memorable moment was when Snoopy is in bobbing for apples. Snoopy is acting pretty cool at the party because he is dancing to music and doing other party like things. This was the most memorable moment for me because when Lucy came out of the water with Snoopy they both were biting the exact same apple at the same exact time. She was really grossed out and angry at Snoopy for what he did. Another reason that I like the scene is I always love when I get to see Snoopy, who is very mischievous and funny. People who always love a good classic will definitely want to watch this movie again and again. I give this movie ***** a five star rating. I loved the movie and I now expect it may be the same for any other great peanuts classic I may stumble onto
The Simpsons by Kayla
The hilarious comedy show The Simpsons has a movie The Simpsons movie! Millions love the comedy series The Simpsons. With such an amazing comedy and hysterical fiction story, it's a great laugh for teen-adult because of its language usage its rated PG 13. I expected this movie to be humorous, goofy and weird as in the original comedy series. Homer is a not so hard working or a caring dad. The whole town gets angry at home because he got spring field trapped in a dome so they get a mob started and try to kill homer because he gets spring field trapped in a giant dome. How he gets the trapped in a giant is by dumping his pig crud in a lake which has been probated to dump anything into it. his daughter Lisa has been going house to house for months trying to get people to stop dumping their things into the local lake. After the mob chases him like crazy their baby Maggie jumps into a sink hole and gets them out of the dome. After all that they head to Alaska as the enter Alaska they get paid a thousand dollars! Then, homer gets mad at his family so his family leaves little does little does he know they are leaving forever. Once they leave, Homer realizes he needs his family really badly. He tries to get back to Springfield to save his family and then he realizes that his family is trapped by the EPA. The EPA(Environmental Protection Agency) which is who trapped the in the giant dome. The movie shows a ton of exhilarating action and funny scenes. The movie shows plenty of dialog and conversation. While the film was amazing already I think they could have made it more enjoyable if like the made some of the scenes more broad and bold. The characters voices are Yeardley Smith as Lisa Nancy Cartwright as Bart Simpsons Dan Castellaneta as Homer and Julie Kavner as Marge. I rate this because it's just so funny! It would be good for people who liked humor and comedy. The main characters are Bart, Lisa, Maggie, Marge, Hommer, Grandpa and the CPA. Bart is an irritating annoying older brother who thinks he's perfect and does everything right and is always in trouble with everyone! Lisa is a sweet kind girl who enjoys to do anything with saving the world. Marge is their spunky blue haired mom who tries to help her kids be better in what they do. Hommer is the lazy, crazy, non-caring dad who does not really care what they do. Maggie is their little baby who does not do much but is smart and cleaver her first word was sequel. Grandpa is a Mental and psycho maniac who has memory loss. The CPA has a big role to the CPA is the group of people who trapped spring field in a giant dome. From what I think and know No other films can compare to this film at all. The Camera Work and animation are good the animation is a bit bazaar with all the people in Springfield being freaky yellow people with random colored hair. From what I have to say there are No beautiful scenes in the movie because... well it's the Simpsons movie. No the camera is not used in interesting ways. Yes I enjoyed the film it was supper funny! Yeah there was a really good point the good point was that they got trapper because of dumping in the local lake. Overall I think the movie was really good.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by Kelly
Totally Awesome: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
The movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is a fantastic film based on the first book of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. This movie is famous worldwide. Even my cousins in Vietnam has seen it. I expected the movie to be adventurous and fantasy; and I got it all! Wizards and unicorn? Wow! This movie tells the story of an orphan named Harry Potter; he lives with his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon and nasty cousin, Dudley. One day, he gets a letter but Uncle Vernon stopped him from reading it. Day after day, he gets letters. Uncle Vernon gets scared, so he moved the whole family into a lighthouse in the middle of the ocean; where no mails could get to them. On his birthday, a giant named Hagrid comes to him and tells him that he is a wizard. He begins to go to a school called Hogwarts, a place where young witches and wizards go to school. There he made friends with Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They discovered the Sorcerer Stone, and tried to save it from the wrong hands. Daniel Radcliffe played the role of Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley, and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger. The camerawork is amazing, making as if you were an actor in the movie. Special effects of the monsters make them look real. For example, the troll that invades Hogwarts. The acting in the film was superb. Daniel Radcliffe was a fabulous actor! He seems to be Harry Potter when he fly on a broom and saved a roommate's special ball. This film is not boring at all. My memorial moment of the film is when the Quidditch game begins. I would reccommend this movie to people age 9 and older who like to watch fantasy and adventure movies. I hope the next movie I watch is as good as this one! I give this movie a thumbs up!

Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark by Zane
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is the all time best movie when it comes to action and adventure. Indiana Jones and Marion Ravenwood go on many epic adventures and you can join them by watching this incredible film. When I first watched Indiana Jones, I expected it to be action-packed and exciting because the producer, Lucasfilms, also made Star Wars, one of the most action-intense films of all time. The genre of Indiana Jones would be categorized as historical fiction/action and adventure. This is easy to tell when you watch it because some of the things are real events from the past and because of th e heated battles and epic exploits. In the film Indiana Jones begins the movie in the jungle where Indy is on an expedition to find and recover a golden idol. Once he gets it, it is quickly stolen back and Indy barely escapes the place alive. Off searching for a new adventure, he meets one of his friends, Marion, and they set out to recover the Ark of the Covenant. The goal is to prevent it from falling into the hands of the Nazi army where it could be used as a powerful weapon to fight WWII. Once in Cairo, they fight their way through distractions like bandits, a crazy swordsman and poisoned food. After all that they finally come across the Ark and think they are on headed for home but the Nazi’s think otherwise.
This movie is very easy to track when you are watching it though it difficult to explain. Indiana Jones, acted by Harrison Ford, is a crazy, adventurous and thrill-seeking man. Harrison Ford does a great job of making things seem real. For example, none of his actions seem too unrealistic, however sometimes they push the edge of possibility. The other main character, Marion Ravenwood, features Karen Allen as an equally crazy and adventurous person. For the most part, the presentation of the movie is terrific. The camera work/camera crew makes you feel as if you are right there in the escapades with everyone. The special effects are phenomenal for the time in which the movie was made, but may seem a little out of proportion since we are so used to more modern technology today. For example, some of the explosions are implausible and if someone (Indiana) was that close, they likely be killed by the shockwave. Though there are many epic scenes in the movie, my favorite happens to be the scene in the beginning of the film where Indy tries to recover the golden idol and has to avoid many traps inside the cave and on his way out, he has to outwit and escape the natives who are passionately trying to protect their treasure and temple.
I loved this extraordinary film and it by far exceeded my expectations. I would recommend this movie to anyone who loves adventure, action and a movie full of surprises. I give the movie 3.5 out of 4 stars only because some of the parts were a little too unreasonable but that is the only downfall to this great movie. I urge you to go and watch Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark if you haven’t already because I know you’ll enjoy watching it.

Shrek 3 by Kelsey
“Shrek the Third” is a family friendly movie and is *** (three stars). I expected from the movie to be more action and romance. Shrek is the third of the series. The genre of the movie is fantasy because, first of all Shrek is an ogre and ogres aren’t real. Then dragon and donkey have dragon donkeys, and puss and donkey change bodies with each other. If I’m right I don’t see talking donkeys, ogres, and cats that can dance in my every day life. The plot of Shrek is in Far Far Away. It is a magical kingdom with all sorts of characters. The main characters are Shrek an ogre, Donkey a donkey, Puss in Boots and Prince Charming. There are many more, those are just a few.
Mike Meyers plays Shrek, Eddie Murphy plays Donkey and Antonio Banderas plays Puss in Boots. I don’t know who plays Prince Charming but I know the actor is amazing! The animation was ok, there were some tweaks here and there, but overall the animation was sweet. I personally don’t like animated films but this time I actually enjoyed it. The most memorable scene was when Shrek, Donkey, and Puss go on a very important quest. They go to another island to bring back the next heir to the throne after the King dies from oldness. Oops! I said too much, sorry for that spoiler! Meanwhile Fiona has a triple surprise for Shrek and wonders if he will be responsible about it. Also, Shrek is a classic tale that every kid has to laugh at least one time while watching Shrek the Third.
I would highly recommend this movie to kids that have seen the first movie. For ages 1-99 years old. Shrek is a well-loved tale that families enjoy and the second one is another movie that is watched over, and over, and over again. This movie might have a little of stuff that should be supervised. It is rated PG. So I don’t know if one to four year olds should watch, that is just my opinion. I can compare this film to a lot of others like Wizard of Oz, How to Train a Dragon and more. I think the moral of Shrek the Third is love who you are and the skin you are in, don’t doubt your future, and you can do great things if you trust in yourself.

Harry Potter by Josh R.
Have you ever seen any Harry Potter movies? Well if you haven’t, I think “Harry Potter Order Of The Phoenix” is one of the best Harry Potter movies to watch. There is a lot of action and magic in the movie. There is no terrible parts except at the end of the movie when there are boring endless credits. When I mean terrible I mean like it somewhat ruins the movie. A brilliant thing about the Harry Potter movies is that they have a series of wonderful books and movies that you can watch over and over again without being bored of watching it. In the Harry Potter movies there are all types of random deformed creatures. In all the movies Harry Potter almost dies and his friends think that he is crazy whenever he almost gets killed. In this movie, Harry Potter has to fight a mysterious hidden person who captured his friend’s sister. They show the mysterious hidden person in the middle of the movie. The main characters in the movie were Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione [Ron and Hermione are Harry Potter’s best friends.] This movie was really outstanding and fabulous because the camera work and special effects were all really clear and there were all fantastic and amazing. The acting in the movie was excellent because none of them messed up or hesitated to act and none of them sounded cheesy. When I say cheesy I mean like it doesn’t sound real or looks like they are mouthing the word. Also they were good at acting because they all have different accents and they made it like you are in the movie, which is really cool.
My favorite part in the movie is when the Phoenix disintegrated to dust and then he came back to life as a baby phoenix. A phoenix is a firebird, if you didn’t know. Another memorable moment in the movie is when Harry Potter found a book that could write back to all his questions. Also another memorable moment is when Harry Potter almost dies when he encountered a giant snake because the snake almost bit him with his poisonous venom. This movie is only good for kids’ ages seven year old and above because if you are six years old or younger, you might not understand the movie as much. Also there are some parts in the movie where there is blood and there is a part where it is really scary so if you’re too young and does not understand the movie, you shouldn’t watch the Harry Potter movies. This movie is probably a four star movie to me because it has excellent filming and amazing actors that made the movie perfect. Something they should add is maybe have less characters because there are way too many characters to remember and you will probably forget at least half of the characters at the end of the movie but besides that, the movie is perfect.

Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe by Alex
Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe - Movie Review
Four siblings discover Narnia, but Jadis the evil witch tries to kill them. Will they restore Narnia to its former beauty or will they perish trying? In this paragraph I will give insight on the movie Narnia, “The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe”. I expected this film to be the fast paced action packed film of the year. I also expected it to have a fairy-tale ending, like all other fantasy movies. Boy was I wrong. The genre is more of a fantasy and fiction thriller, but there is a message that the whole story conveys and that is caring for each other.
In this movie, the plot mainly focuses on following the Pevensie siblings; Lucy, Edmond, Susan and Peter on their adventures through the mystical land of Narnia. I think the plot makes sense most of the time, but the writers could have made the whole story more realistic. It is usually easy to follow except for some parts in the battle scene. I think the plot is realistic especially when the actors were acting. I think they did a great job.
The main characters are; Lucy a nice young girl who is quite brave. Edmond, who is one year older than Lucy, begins his journey in Narnia with a rough start. Susan is a smart and courteous girl who thinks before speaking, Lastly, there is Peter who is the eldest, he is a person who likes to be the leader and boss of everything. The actors; Georgia Henley plays Lucy, Skander Keynes plays Edmond, Anne Popplewell plays Susan and William Moseley portrays Peter. I think these actors are realistic and imaginable in these parts. The animations in this film really bring more depth and advance the overall entertainment factor. Special effects are proposed to really show and make the viewer envision what the film is really like in their head. I especially liked the sceneries special effects. I think it really added a sort of zest that the film was missing.
A beautiful scene that I liked was when Susan and Lucy were playing by a creek and all of a sudden a tree’s flowers were blown of its branches and it made a picture of their mother. There aren’t any times when the camera is used in an interesting way, so I can’t say much about that. I enjoyed this film because it showcased the great acting skills of these wonderful children and young adults. There were some good and some bad points in this novel turned movie. Some good points were that the creators really focused on creating something that would show how the characters grow and change both physically and mentally. Some bad points of the movie included fake crying and on occasion no attention to detail. I particularly enjoyed the big battle scene, because it really showed how much each and every character changes in the movie. I would recommend this film because it shows how adventure films can be family oriented. Action and adventure lovers would go crazy over this film because its like Lord Of The Rings meant for a younger fan base. Lastly, I think this film deserves a 3 out of 4 star rating.

Mall Cop by Chris
The Mall Cop Experience
Have you ever seen a mall cop in your local mall? Well, this is the story of one! I had very high expectations for this movie because I had heard from other people, that is was hilarious. I decided I just had to review it! I was expecting a slap-stick as well as a sarcastic movie about a very fat Mall Cop. The plot in Mall Cop is about a Mall Cop guarding a mall called The West Pavilion Mall. The main character Paul Blart (played by Kevin James) always tries to be a real cop, for example he tries to give an old man on a power scooter a ticket. Suddenly a gang of robbers breaks in to try and steal the credit card numbers off the machines as well as holding hostages. The money at risk is millions of dollars. Another part of the conflict is he lives with his Mom still and tries to get onto the police force but his case of diabetes makes him fall asleep right before the finish line of the final challenge, the obstacle course. The presentation of the film is fairly good overall, but has some moments that seem very odd at that time in the film. Camera work very good for example when the camera men film the gang members jumping from high points as if they were ninjas and I was amazed how they kept up. Special effects are plentiful like when the wall of the mall gets blown out by Paul. Acting was very good and comedic at times as well with Paul seeming to fall down or jump heroically from car to car yet coming up short and landing in the dirt. Kevin James was particularly funny with all of the falls. I would recommend this movie for people who love comedy therefor this movie has what you want. This movie is a great movie and I loved it because of the many hysterical moments. My favorite scene in Mall Cop is when the owner of the arcade goes to pick up his check and asks Paul to lock it up for him. Paul can’t resist and starts playing the games. First, he starts playing Rock Band crazily pretending to be a rock star. Next, he tries to play running game where you are supposed to pretend to jump hurtles but he’s not the most athletic guy around and starts to lose and slips on the treadmill and falls down. I would highly recommend this movie but not to any person under the age of ten because of language, and crude humor. This movie is what I would call a three star movie. I rated this movie because I could sometimes just predict what would happen like he will fall or pass out. I expected a comedy and I got it but some parts got boring and could be fixed but they were just minor things and did not hurt the review any. So sit down with a bowl of popcorn and watch Mall Cop!

Ice Age: The Meltdown by Josh V.
In this hysterical action-packed movie, “Ice Age: The Meltdown” four great friends go on a quest that changes their lives forever. What I expected this movie to be about was a mammoth, Manny whose voice is played by Ray Raymond who is the main character. His friends are Diego, voice by Denis Leary, Sid, voice by John Leguizamo and Scrat, voice by Queen Latifah. They have to escape because of a terrible flood. The camera effects are great and special effects are amazing such as how they show how the flood hits which makes it look like a real flood instead of animation. The acting in this movie is great because each character has their own personality and because they are played by different voices. The most exciting, but terrifying part, is when the flood hits. The most memorable part is when they go back into the past of Scrat’s life before she found a family. This movie is for all ages and recommended also for families that love comedies. The rating on this movie is PG and I give it four stars!
This movie takes place during the Ice Age when mammoths and all different kinds of creatures lived in peace and harmony. Manny, the main character who is the mammoth, goes on a journey with his friends Sid and Diego. They’re trying to escape because of a terrible flood. How this had happened was the ice surrounding them was going to meltdown and which causes a flood destroying everything in its sight. So they leave to get on a boat that was made by the animals, for all the animals to fit in and be in safety when it hits. Along the way they meet Scrat another mammoth and her two possums’. They decide to all join as a group and go together to reach the boat. But will they make it in time before the flood hits? Do they all survive this treacherous flood that will destroy everything?
This is the reason I enjoyed this movie and love to watch it over and over again. The things that were great to this movie were the characters and the adventure they went on together as a group. The voices done by the people were great because their personalities fit perfectly with their character. It felt like all the characters were really funny and made great jokes, especially Sid. The adventure is super and thrilling. My favorite part is when Sid gets abducted by thousandths of other sloths and they worship Sid like he is there king. They also go on many more crazy adventures, but this was my favorite adventure of all of them. This is one of my favorite movies and I recommend it to anyone who loves great comedy. Also it is a great family movie to watch and enjoy!
That’s my review on “Ice Age The Meltdown”. Now you can see my love for this fantastic movie! What’s your favorite movie that you enjoyed?

Night at the Museum by Will
Have you ever been to a museum and thought it would be cool if everything in it came to life? Night at the museum is a heartwarming movie good for all ages 6 and up. I expected this film to be funny, uplifting and great comedy for the whole family. The plot of the story is about a man named Larry Daily (Ben Stiller) who needs a job and he gets one as a museum night watchman. Little does he know, at night everything in the museum comes to life. The climax of the story is when Larry finds out that SPOILER ALERT!! The previous night watchmen are actually the bad guys in the story. One of the conflicts in this film is the struggles that Larry faces with having the responsibility of trying to keep all of the exhibits out of the sun, because if they are exposed to the sun they will turn to ash. Another conflict in the movie is the bond between Larry and his son. The resolution to this problem is when Larry takes his son to work and shows him all of the cool things that happen at night. A few of the characters that help Larry along the way are Jed (Owen Wilson) which everybody calls him and Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams.)
One of the reasons this movie was so entertaining is because of its wonderful presentation in the film. The camerawork and special effects was the main reason because they made all the animals and dinosaurs look and seem very real. A perfect example of this is the big skeleton dinosaur that comes to life at night. Another precise example of the special effects is when you see all the animals in the African exhibit, especially the lions and monkeys. The last reason this movie was so well done is because of the acting done by Ben Stiller. To be honest I don’t think that this movie would be as enjoyable if it was not for the work of Ben Stiller-his sense of humor, his acting and his way of making everyone think that he is Larry Daily.
Some people I would recommend this movie to as I mentioned earlier are kids 6 and up because I think that they would think it is funny just as I did when I first watched it a few years ago. A memorable time for me is when the old man punches Larry right in the jaw and calls him a “Hot Dog.” The rating I gave this movie is three out of four stars because there were times in it that were not as good as others in this film. Overall I thought that this movie reached my expectations because as I just said it was not great but it was not terrible. Therefore it definitely deserved a solid three stars.

Monsters Inc. by Natalie
Have you ever seen the movie Monsters Inc? Monsters Inc is created by Disney, and has a rating of PG. Monsters Inc is an adorable movie about two monsters who work at Monsters Incorporated. I expected the movie to be a little weird because it is about two monsters named Sully and Mike. Sully was voiced by the actor John Goodman. Mike was voiced by the comical actor Billy Crystal. At Monsters Incorporated, their business is to scare children to gather screams. Screams generate electricity a/nd power for Monstropolous. Although Sully seems soft and sensitive, he is the one who scares, and Mike is his assistant. Sully and Mike have the top scare record. They work very well together, and they are best friends. Mike is a little, round, green monster. Sully is Mike’s best friend and is tall and blue with purple polka dots. Randal, their worst enemy, holds the second highest scare record at Monsters Inc. Monsters of Monstropolous have always been told that human kids are fatal to monsters. One night, Sully is the last one to leave work and finds a child roaming around. He soon becomes attached to her and names her Boo. After Sully convinces Mike that Boo is harmless, they try to get her back home, but cause more trouble.* They find out that the owner of Monsters Incorporated is up to no good. He and Randal are kidnapping children to force screams out of them by using a scream machine. Near the end, they kidnap Boo, and try to put her in their scream machine, but Sully and Mike save her and destroy the machine. They expose the owner and Randal to the CDA, Child Detection Agency. One of the workers at Monsters Inc is really the number one undercover agent for the CDA. She knew something was going on, but didn’t know what until Mike and Sully helped figure it out.* I think the special effects were really cool because when the monsters with fur move, their fur moves and flows with the character’s movements and actions. I thought the acting and voices were very believable because when the characters were mad, they sounded mad. When they were happy, they sounded very happy. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes cute and funny movies. My favorite scene was when Sully and Mike were in the room with Boo for the first time. In the scene, Mike has a disinfectant spray, and is spraying it everywhere Boo touches. I think the funniest part is when Boo sneezes in Mike’s eye, and he sprays the disinfectant spray in his eye and screams in pain. I think this movie can be enjoyed by all ages, especially kids. It is entertaining for both kids and adults. I gave Monsters Inc, four out of five stars. I gave the movie four stars because it is funny, creative, and cute, but at some parts it was a little slow but the targeted age group of 7 and under won’t notice. Overall, I enjoyed Monsters Inc, and highly recommend it as an entertaining, classical movie. It is a fun way to spend any afternoon.

Walking with Monsters by Aiden
In the movie walking with monsters you will learn about the creatures before the dinosaurs and their struggle with survival. Before I watched this movie I expected little from this movie but as they say don’t judge a book or movie by its cover. The movie put me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The plot was fast paced but easy to follow. Also the computer generated characters added to the effect making it even more believable, especially since it took place in 1,000,000,000 B.C.
The whole movie was computer generated but looks real. The best part was that the creatures look and act just how scientists think they did millions of years ago. Also, when the monsters evolved, the narrator told you what improved about them to help them survive. There was no acting involved, but what was cool was that the animals and background were so detailed you would think you traveled back in time.
I gave this movie 3 out of 4 stars not just for the fun of it but because I loved it so much that I would watch it over and over and over and over again. I would watch it over and over and over and over again because I could learn even more, and because there were battles between the monsters witch made it very suspenseful. The people who should watch this movie are those that like the evolution of animals and like suspense in their movies.

Soul Surfer by Samantha
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have one arm, Bethany Hamilton never thought this tragedy would happen to her. Soul Surfer was an interesting tale of an ordinary girl who surfs the waves of Hawaii. I expected this movie to be a childish and educational film. Wow, was I wrong. Bethany is a competitive surfer who loses an arm to a shark while surfing. Despite losing an arm Bethany was not discouraged about surfing again.
Bethany (Anna-Sophia Robb) and her best friend Atlanta Blanchard (Lorraine Broussard) go through many adventures and challenges throughout the movie with her Dad (Dennis Quaid) and Mom (Helen Hunt). One example is when they try to except the fact that Bethany’s life will never be the same (after the shark incident). Another example is Bethany and her family learning how to deal with her having one arm.
The presentation of this movie was good very straight forward. The special effects were great, especially during the surfing competition when they show the surfing through the perspective of the surfers surfing waves. The acting was very believable they chose a good actress to play Bethany. Bethany and Anna-Sophia are both Christian and are interested in some of the same things, so found it very easy to become friends. The settings in the movie were very scenic and pretty. I would recommend this movie to all of my friends and family. It’s very inspirational throughout the movie for children, adults, people with disabilities and people without.
For example there is a scene Bethany is determined to surf again regardless of the fact she only has one arm. This movie takes place in Hawaii except for the scene when Bethany and her bible school go to other countries to help those in need after earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis’ and more. All children (all ages) and their families should watch this amazing movie. I give these movie four stars because exceeded my expectations on real life experiences. This movie is not what people will expect when watching a true story.

All children (all ages) and their families should watch this amazing movie. I give these movie four stars because exceeded my expectations on real life experiences. This movie is not what people will expect when watching a true story.
Surf's Up by Parker
Have you ever seen a film about surfing penguins ? Probably not, but I sure have. I reviewed a movie called Surf's Up, a movie about, you guessed it, surfing penguins. I expected a family directed film with light drama, and lots of humor and action. As expected it was a family, but at some points it was very inconsistent with the " 7 & below " or " 10 & above " age factor, but it at least had a message to follow your dreams.
The plot goes as this : A young penguin, named Cody Maverick ( Shia LaBeouf ), who followed a dead surfer named Big Z, makes it to a huge surfing competition. Along the way, he decides to surf against a rival surfer named Tank Evans ( Diedrich Bader ). A bad hit from a couple of waves knocks him out, and a lifeguard, named Lani ( Zooey Deschanel ), pulls him out and takes him to her uncle, Geek ( Jeff Bridges ). Geek fixes him up and takes him to a secret spot for surfing. * SPOILER ALERT * When he takes Cody down, Cody learns that Geek is actually Big Z, and he never died in the first place. After many failed lessons, Cody gives up faith in Big Z and goes on to the competition himself. During the final round, between him, Tank, and his best friend " Chicken Joe " ( Jon Heder ), him and Tank go out of bounds, resulting in Chicken Joe winning. People who didn't read the last few sentences can come back now. Him and Tank end up in a dangerous part of the water, but are saved by Big Z, practically endng the movie. The main character, Cody Maverick, is played by Shia LaBeouf, and is a small and defiant 17 year old rockhopper penguin from "Shiverpool, Antarctica " Tank Evans, the main Antagonist, is played by Dierich Bader and is a tough, large, rather mean penguin who competes with Cody and Chicken Joe in the competition. Big Z / Geek, played by Jeff Bridges is an old, washed - up pro surfer who visited Cody's hometown, gave him a necklace, and told him to never give up. Lani, the lifeguard, is Big Z's niece and Cody's crush in the film. Chicken Joe, played by Jon Heder, is a laid back chicken from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, who is a really good surfer.
The animation rather normal for three dimensional animation, no differences whatsoever. I, to tell you the truth, didn't enjoy the film much due to it's inconsistency with being a certain age directed film, plus how there was a lot more drama then there should have been. One scene, however, that I particularly liked was the scene where Cody is rejected for the competition, so he swims out to a speeding humpback whale holding all of the contestants plus the Talent Scout, so he can get into the competition. I would mpersonally reccomend this film to the 7 - 10 year old age group. There are two movies I can compare this too, and they are only comparable because they re the only other ones I know of about penguins, and that's Happy Feet, and Happy Feet Two. In conclusion, I give this film 2 1/2 stars, and a very average enjoyment factor. This concludes my film review.

Molly By Maggie
Epically Heart-warming Film: Molly, an American Girl on the Home Front
The books written to express the life of a ten year old girl whose father is in the war overseas and must eat mashed turnips for supper comes to life on screen in Molly; an American Girl on the Home Front. I expected the film to be on top of the story with dialogue from the books and closely followed the strong, touching book story-line. This movie has a truly well written narrative that easily explains the struggles of Molly McIntire, played by Maya Ritter, who is the main individual in this motion picture. To Molly, the war means cocoa during black-out drills, watching newsreels at the theater, and tap dancing to win the part of Miss Victory, a popular role in the school pageant. But when her father is shipped overseas to be a doctor in the war, and her mother goes to work in an airplane factory, life for Molly turns upside down. While her mother and father are away doing their part for the war, Molly must endure mashed turnips, baloney sandwiches, and listening to Mrs. Gilford tell stories about her son, Johnny Gilford. Later in the plot, Johnny dies while fighting, and Molly then has to realize that what she has to go through in her life is nothing compared to what the army is England has to go through. One day, a young girl named Emily, who is Molly’s age, played by Tory Green, enters the home of the McIntire’s. She is a refugee from England, and has come to Jefferson, Missouri to seek shelter from the war. At first, Molly thinks that Emily is stuck up and conceited, but, in the end, Molly discovers the truth about Emily. The movie is easily recognized as a fictional story plot, and has an assortment of good natured scenes. No special effects were used, and the camera is positioned in a way that seems like it is in a

Facing the Giants by Julia
A Great Film: Facing the Giants
Although some parts of “Facing the Giants” weren’t the best, it is one of my favorites. “Facing the Giants” seemed to be an intense football movie, according to the cover. Never judge a movie by its cover! The setting is in Indiana. The plot is how young David Childers, played by Bailey Cave, tries out for kicker on a football team for the Eagles at Shiloh, a Christian high school after his soccer season ends. He tries out because he wants to stay in shape for his soccer season next year. David is son of Larry Childers, who is paralyzed from the waist down in a wheelchair. At first, David needs to work on his kicking and aim. He really needed to master his kicking before the first game. His coach, Grant Taylor, played by Alex Kendrick, is not a very good football instructor. Their team has never gone to play-offs… until various “miracles” happen (Shiloh wins the Championships; Grant gets to keep coaching for the Eagles; Grant and Brooke have a baby boy;). By the end of the movie, Grant is a great coach because he makes everyone on the football team work hard and do their best. He runs his players much more, and works them toward championship. Grant does something called the death-walk, where one player goes on another players back and they bear crawl to any line. Shannen Fields plays Brooke Taylor, wife of Grant. They don’t have a lot of money, and the most they want is a baby. Grant’s team buys him a brand new truck, and the Eagles finally goes to play-offs. After this happens, Brooke and Grant have a baby boy. From then on, the Taylor’s have a very happy life. The acting in this movie is great, and the camera work is clear and sharp. Almost everything in this movie is believable, especially the football playing. There weren’t really any special effects besides maybe some sun in the background, which made the scenes look really beautiful and realistic. I really loved how this movie was put together and how they chose to have intensity and sadness. I love the plot that they chose—a little intensity towards the end, a little more tear worthy in the beginning. Some memorable moments are when they win their last game of the year in play-offs, against the Giants, who are the best football team in the league. Another memorable moment is when Grant Taylor is thanking God for everything he has done for his family. I think kids of all ages and adults should watch this movie because it is appropriate (maybe a little depressing, but not so much that people don’t want to watch it). It might be boring for some teenagers, since some are (or want) to be “cool”. I give this movie 4 thumbs up… can I use someone’s hands? I can guarantee anyone who watches “Facing the Giants” will not be disappointed. When I heard, “a football movie”, I really didn’t want to watch it. And then, I read the back (I’m guilty). In the end, this movie was great. Anyone who doesn’t want to watch it will be sorry….
Facing the Giants really deserved 3 stars out of 4. Even though I did expect more intensity, I think it was a great entertainer!

Shrek 2 by Isabelle
Movie Review Paragraph
Shrek 2 What will happen after Prince Charming and the Fairy Godmother actually trick Fiona to get her to kiss Shrek?(or Fiona thinks). DreamWorks told a story about Shrek and his wife Fiona in the first Shrek, Shrek 1. Well, this is a sequel better than the first. I expected it to be kid like and not funny at all. Shrek 2 was interesting for it’s creativeness and funniness. Shrek 2 is all about an ogre named Shrek (Mike Myers) trying to win his ogre spouse, Fiona (Cameron Diaz) back with his best friend Donkey, a donkey (Eddie Murphy) and newly found kitten friend, Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas). From the evil Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) and his mother, the Fairy Godmother (Jennifer Saunders) after * Shrek rescues Princess Fiona from the tower she was kept in, before Prince Charming*. Prince Charming and his mother have tried to win Fiona back because they believe Prince Charming deserves Fiona. What will happen after they trick Fiona and Shrek? You will just have to watch Shrek 2 at home with your family! Shrek 2 has super creative features and it’s animation was believable and easy to follow. My family’s favorite scene and probably yours, is the trip to Far Far Away with Donkey in the back of the onion (onions were cars) annoying Shrek and Fiona. I recommend Shrek 2 to parents that have kids because it is fun to watch and has adult and kid humor in it. The kids will like it and the parents will too! I give Shrek 2 four stars because of how funny it is and it’s amazing features, scenes, and creativeness. Overall I was super surprised of how funny Shrek 2 was. I believe DreamWorks has done it again. *spoiler alert (from first movie)

Tangled by Monica
“Tangled” Movie Review
In the tower, Flynn Rider enters looking for a place to hide from the guards and Rapunzel comes up and whacks him with a frying pan, he lays there out cold on the ground. Tangled is a fantastic movie because of its adventurous and exciting plot, great characters and enjoyable for the whole family. I expected Tangled to be another mediocre movie but, it blew me away. The beginning of the film starts off when Rapunzel the new born princess is taken away by Gothel because of her long golden magical hair. Every year on her birthday the King, Queen and the whole village send out lanterns in hope that one day they’ll find her. Every year Rapunzel sits at her window wondering what the lanterns are for. This year for her eighteen birthday more than anything she wants to see the lanterns in person but, Gothel will not let her out of the tower. When Eugene a.k.a. Flynn Rider shows up they start there adventure to the castle. The main characters in the movie are Rapunzel, Flynn Rider (Eugene) and Gothel. The plot is really easy to follow if you are paying attention.
I think the presentation of the movie was amazing. The camera work was really good. The animation was very colorful, bold and real looking. In the movie, Rapunzel was played by Mandy Moore, actress and singer. Flynn Rider (Eugene) Zachery Levi, singer and actor. Donna Murphy played Gothel. All the acting in the movie was extraordinary, their voices fit the characters. Just because this is about a princess does not mean it’s not enjoyable for the whole family. The genre was comedy, family and animation and I think the message is to follow your dreams.
Tangled was originally rated G but, changed to PG because of Brief and mild violence. I think that it’s a great movie for the whole family to enjoy because it’s a comedy family animation. I personally enjoyed the singing because it wanted to make me sing along, it sounded fantastic. As an example of the singing Mother Knows Best sung by Gothel telling Repunzel she knew everything best for her. My favorite scene is when Rapunzel and Flynn Rider star their adventure, and she is disobeying her mother and takes her first steps out of the castle, and is jumping for joy one minute, and crying the next because she disobeyed her mom. Tangled by far deserves four stars because it has a fabulous plot, great actors and characters, hilarious, family enjoyable and there are several more great reasons why Tangled should have four stars.
I defiantly expected a mediocre, childish and boring film. I thought it would be something you would only want to see once but, I was wrong, it turned out amazing. Tangled was exciting and I defiantly enjoyed it. Overall I give it four stars. Do se Rapunzel and Flynn Rider (Eugene) make to the castle? Will she ever get to see the lanterns in person? Find out when you watch Tangled!

Bride Wars by Sydney
Bride Wars
What do you think would happen if two friends who always wanted to be each others’ maids of honor ended up with their weddings being planned on the same day, at the same time, and at the same place? Well, you’ll find out in the movie Bride Wars. This is what happened to Emma (Anne Hathaway) and Liv (Kate Hudson), who have been best friends since they were little girls. They become engaged at the same time and go to meet a wedding planner named Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen). When Marion’s secretary makes a mistake and schedules both of their weddings on the same day at the Plaza Hotel, each girl thinks the other will change her date. When this does not happen, they each try to find ways to ruin the others’ weddings.
I expected the movie to be funny because it was placed in the comedy category, and the movie was funny! There are a couple of reasons why it was funny. One was when Emma changes the hair coloring from a natural color to blue. The blue coloring gets put in Liv’s hair. Another reason was when Liv puts orange coloring in the spray tan booth instead of a light glow color. She thinks Emma will have to change her wedding date because she is orange. These two parts of the movie were the most memorable because they were the funniest, and people usually remember the funny moments.
I think the camera work was great and everything went well. The acting was outstanding. I felt like everything blended well, and I believed everything. I really enjoyed the movie because it made me laugh almost all the way through it.
My rating for Bride Wars would be two thumbs up. I do not think children under the age of eight or nine should see this movie without an adult, just to be safe. Also, I would rate the movie three stars out of four, because it was funny, but after you watch it over and over again, it gets a little boring.
Who I think should watch this movie would be anyone over the age of nine. They should be fine, but a parent might still want to watch it first because it is rated PG, which means “parental guidance suggested”.
Lastly, I think Bride Wars is a great and enjoyable film that anyone can watch. It is not just a funny film. It also shows how close of a friendship you can have with someone and how something can tear that friendship apart. The movie can also show you how some little fight that friends get into are no one’s fault. It does not matter whose fault it may have been. Friendships should not be torn apart over a little mistake. There are many other lessons in this movie. That is why I did my movie review on Bride Wars, starring Anne Hathaway as Emma and Kate Hudson as Liv. Candice Bergen plays Marion St. Claire.

Harry Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone by Carter
Have you ever wondered if there was another world other than ours? Well, all your dreams have come true when you watch Harry Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone. It was a movie series based on the books by J.K. Rowling. Overall, I thought the movie Harry Potter was awesome. It had great acting, excellent animations, and spectacular scenes. Even with all those good additives, the movie still lacked some of the details the book had to make it a magnificent read. So I think that it wasn't brilliant in a whole, but I think it deserved three stars.
Harry Potter is the start of the movie version of the books by J.K. Rowling. I expected that Harry Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone would be ingenious because the books were brilliant. The plot of the movie is that Harry got a letter from Hogwarts, a magical school but his aunt and uncle, which he lived with because his parents were killed, didn't let him have read it because they didn't want Harry to know he was a wizard. Eventually he gets to open it and gratefully accepts. He gets escorted by a half- giant, Hagrid and goes to school. He gets lost in the school, and finds a giant three- headed guarding something, and the rest of the movie is about Harry Potter finding out what it is. The three main characters are Harry Potter, who is played by Daniel Radcliffe, Ron Weasly, who is played by Rupert Grint, and Hermione Granger, who is played by Emma Watson.
I think the presentation of Harry Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone was superb. The camerawork was amazing. One example was when they show the quiddich match. Harry Potter was flying, and it was perfect because you couldn't see the camera at all. The special effects were awesome. One example was when they fight a mountain troll, and Ron makes the troll's club levitate with a spell. The acting could have been better. One example is when Harry fights Lord Voldemort, Who is using the the "defense against the dark arts" teacher, Professor Quirrel to get stronger, and some of it looks fake because the special effects made it look a little strange.
I would recommend the movie Harry Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone to many of people. I think the enjoyment factor for the movie would be a great movie for anyone who wants to see an awesome movie, such as the people who are Harry Potter book fanatics. I think one of the most memorable moments in the movie for me would have to be when Harry Potter goes into the Chamber of Secrets and to pass through the next room, Harry has to win a game of giant wizard chess, and Harry and his friends are some of the pieces! The age group for people who are age ten to any adult. I think the rating this movie deserves is two thumbs up, or three stars.
Again, as I said before, Harry Potter is overall a wonderful film. It could have been better in some parts, but all in all it was an astonishing movie. I say that if you want to be entertained with a movie based off of a well known series, just watch Harry

Potter: and the Sorcerer's Stone today!
Zookeeper by Michael
Overall I think the movie was great and funny, it’s a great comedy! It’s one of the few movies I would like to watch again. The movie is called Zookeeper and I expected it to be interesting and exciting. I was close to correct. It was a fascinating and funny movie! One of the main characters is Griffin who has a job as a zookeeper, played by Kevin James. The film was mainly about Griffin trying to get his girlfriend back. The presentation was tremendous and a really good special effect is how they get the animals to talk. The acting was superior because they were impressive. For example, when Griffin and his pretending to be girlfriend are swinging on the curtains, Griffin crashes and breaks stuff. The acting was also good for how realistic it was. Except for the talking animals it all could have happened in real life. I would recommend this book to people who like animals. The movie was very fun to watch. A memorable moment is when Griffin dramatically jumps in slow motion then fails and misses. I would rate it four out of five stars for how good they did everything. Four out of five stars is a good number and it means that I enjoyed it and would recommend it. It was close to what I expected of the movie and besides a couple things it did not need to be changed.
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Lauren
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief
Percy Jackson is a demigod, and almost nothing good ever happens around a demigod. Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief is a mediocre film that can be distinctly related to Harry Potter.
In this movie, I expected many things in the movie that wasn’t there. First of all, I expected better acting., the way some characters said their lines made me think they were reading from their scripts as the movie went on. I also expected younger characters (11 or 12) and more information from the book, the movie makers left out a lot of parts I really wanted to see, which made the movie a lot less interesting than I thought it would be.
The story starts of with three friends, Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman), Annabeth Chase (Alexandria Daddiaro) and Grover Underwood (Brandon T. Jackson) who must go on an epic quest to save Percy’s mother, who is being held captive in the underworld, while they are trying to rescue Percy’s mother, they also must stop the war between the gods that could easily destroy the world. The war is between Zeus and Poseidon on whether Percy stole the lightning bolt or not. Along the way to retrieve the lightning bolt and his mother and return the bolt to Zeus, Percy Annabeth and Grover come face to face with very many deadly monsters. The main characters include Percy, a preteen boy, unfairly accused of stealing a lightning bolt and has his mother taken from him, Annabeth Chase, who is around Percy’s age, who also has major fighting skills and is one of Percy’s great friends, then there is Grover, Percy’s best friend and protector and doesn’t always think before he acts.
The camera work is great but the special affects you can tell are not real at all. . The way Logan said his lines impressed that the whole movie is a joke. . I would have to say this movie is kind of boring and I almost fell asleep while watching it. This movie is definitely not one someone could or would watch over and over and over again. One really funny scene I remember from the movie was when Percy Jackson laughed like a girl after eating a lotus flower at the casino that Percy, Annabeth and Grover were trapped at. I would rate this movie 2 stars meaning it is mediocre, not horrible but at the same time, not the best. People I would recommend this to are people who don’t know very much about Percy Jackson because they wouldn’t mind the missing parts because they’ve never read about it. Another person I would recommend this to is some one who has nothing else to do. I ended up being very disappointed with this film and hope that they redo this one, not make any more, or make another that is better than the first but based on the second book.. I think you would agree with me if you saw this film.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon by Kelton
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
I did a movie review on Transformers: Dark of the Moon. What I expected from the film was a fun and fast paced movie and that’s what I got. The plot of the film is about a teen fresh out of college (Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf) who gets involved in an alien robot war for their dying planet. There are two sides to the war autobots and decepticons.
The presentation of the film was great. The camerawork for the film was amazing especially in the final fight scene of the movie. The acting was believable especially when acting towards the animated robots. Special effects were amazing including the robots and fight scenes.
My recommendations for the film show how great it was. The enjoyment factor for the movie is worth it especially for fight scenes. Some memorable moments in the film were all the amazing effects in the battle scenes. I give Transformers: Dark of the Moon, 2 thumbs up for all the action. People that should watch the film are kids 9 and up for dialogue and blood. My rating of 2 thumbs is exactly what I expected from the film. Transformers: Dark of the Moon was action-packed, fun, and fast-paced.

Evan Almighty by Nate
The film Evan Almighty, by Universal Studios, explodes with hilarious footage. Evan, the main character, has an unusual calling from God. Evan just recently began a job as United States Congressman. He has moved his family from Ohio to Washington DC, with his new car (a hummer) and his new enormous home. You would think things were perfect… but God has other plans. Evan is a believer, but he doesn’t pray or read The Bible, so imagine his confusion when GEN 6:14 references keep appearing: his alarm clock, his license plate, his parking spot, and the TV. What’s the message? Simply put, God wants Evan to build an ark.
Through his many struggles with family, his new job and interactions with his fellow United States Congressmen, Evan still tries to fulfill God’s plans for him as a modern day Noah. “A flood is going to happen on September twenty-second” God claims. Evan’s transformation is shocking not only to him and his family, but also his fellow congressmen, the media, and his neighbors.
This film is filled with comical scenes. Every time you watch it, instead of getting bored you will still laugh your head off. Evan is played by “The Office” star Steve Carell. God is played by the one and only, Morgan Freeman. The presentation of the movie was amazing, though you’d expect nothing less from Universal Studios. The camera work was especially well done with all the special features, like a flood and the 300 foot ark. Acting was an A+ effort. All of the actors’ parts fit their personalities. Steve Carell for example, played a funny, confused, dorky character. The very part he was born to play. You can see this most clearly in the scenes where he is doing “The Dance.” I recommend this movie with good will to all of you comedy lovers. This movie was fast paced and enjoyable with all of the hilarious lines, scenes and action. After watching this movie, you will never forget when birds fly in through Evan’s office window as he is preparing for a huge meeting. Nor shall you read the Ten Commandments and not think of Morgan Freeman’s Eleventh! I give Evan Almighty three stars.

Leap Year by Elise
Movie Review: Leap Year
Are you are partial to romantic comedies? Then don’t miss the wonderful movie, Leap Year! To be quite honest, I expected this movie to be so-so and mediocre. According to the reviews I read, this film was not exceptional, “…a good, but very predictable movie.” However, in my experienced romantic comedy opinion, those reviews sold the movie short. In Leap Year, snooty and rich Bostonite, Anna, has her whole life planned out for herself. The opening scene gives us a brief introduction of her perfect boyfriend, successful career, soon-to-be million dollar apartment, and beautiful friends. There’s just one missing piece in her picture-perfect vision: she’s not married. When her fifth anniversary with her boyfriend, Jeremy, passes without an engagement ring, Anna decides to follow Jeremy to Ireland, where he is at a medical convention. Anna decides to take matters into her own hands and follow an old, romantic Irish tradition to propose to her boyfriend on Leap Day. On the way, “Mother Nature” throws Anna into a jumbled mess, and she finds herself stuck with the annoying, but handsome, Declan to take her to Dublin in time to propose.
A convincing Amy Adams, the red head who first became famous for her role as the displaced fairy-tale princess in the children’s movie, Enchanted, plays Anna. Declan is played by Matthew Goode. Declan is a charming young Irishman who was emotionally scarred by his ex-fiancé. Goode’s easy-going personality and authentic Irish accent makes Declan a likeable and believable character. The acting by both Adams and Goode is wonderfully convincing, each actor fitting their part to a “T.” Amy Adams especially impressed me. Having once had to play a frilly princess in Enchanted, she now plays the role of a snob quite believably. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The camerawork is stunning. It captures the gorgeous landscapes of rural Ireland beautifully. Scene after scene filled my imagination with what Ireland would be like to visit. The screenplay was well written, with many funny lines and scenes that are amusing and entertaining. One of my favorite scenes has Anna and Declan driving to Dublin when cows block the rode, not letting them pass. Anna is talking the cows off the road and into a pasture when she steps in a cow patty. Meanwhile, Declan’s beater car is stopped on a steep hill. Anna leans against it to get the manure out of her shoe. As their luck would have it, the parking brake gives out and the car begins to roll down the hill. She tries to open the door and breaks off the handle. In a desperate attempt, Declan leaps onto the car, but fails to keep it from rolling into enormous swamp.
I would recommend this movie to girls 10-years and older. The movie is rated PG, with mostly clean entertainment and a bit of mature humor. It’s definitely a “girl” movie filled with memorable scenes, great acting, and clever lines. For anybody who is a sucker for romantic comedies, Leap Year is much better than it was given credit for. For that crowd, I give it an enthusiastic “two thumbs up!” Give it a try—you’ll find it’s the best movie of the leap year!
What about Bob? by Anna S.
"What about Bob?"
Overall the movie "What about Bob?" is a very funny film that is definitely worth watching. It made me laugh so hard, that my cheeks started to hurt. I expected the movie to be old and corny. It was quite the opposite. The actors were great and the movie itself was stupendous. It may not be a very current movie (it was made in 1991), but it can be rented through a movie store or Netflix. "What about Bob?" is a PG rated comedy film.
The characters in the film are Bob Wiley played by Bill Murray and Dr. Leo Marvin played by Richard Dreyfuss. Bob Wiley lives with his fish, Gill. Bob has a plethora of phobias. Some of his phobias include separation anxiety (he wouldn't leave his fish home alone, so he put it in a jar around his neck), fear of germs (cleaned everything with a tissue before touching it), claustrophobia (he climbed stairs to the 40th floor of a building, instead of taking the elevator to meet Dr. Leo Marvin), and fear of death (especially fear of his bladder exploding). The movie's plot focuses on when Bob follows his new psychiatrist, Dr. Leo Marvin, on vacation, hoping to receive treatment. Dr. Marvin goes to the extremes, desperately trying to ditch Bob, who is bonding with Dr. Marvin's family. Meanwhile, his family starts to think that Bob is more fun than Dr. Marvin. For instance Bob started spending more time having fun with Dr. Leo Marvin's children than the Dr. himself. Like the time when Bob went sailing with Dr. Marvin's daughter. While Bob was roped to the mast of the sailboat, with his life vest on, he was shouting with excitement, "I'm sailing! I'm a sailor!" The plot is easy to follow and enjoyable.
The presentation was alright, and kind of fuzzy. But, it is an older movie so that is to be expected. The camerawork was fine, but nothing to get excited about. The film is shot mostly in New Hampshire on the water, so the scenery was spectacular. The colors were vibrant and rich. The acting was great, and you could tell that the actors were really giving it their all. Richard Dreyfuss's expressions were so realistic (and humorous) that it made the film even better.
I really liked watching this film. It was really funny.
I recommend this movie to everyone who loves a good laugh. I really enjoyed this movie and I believe that others will too. A memorable part in the film is when Dr. Leo Marvin cannot find his new toothbrush (Bob Wiley was using it) so he is standing and brushing he teeth with his finger. This scene was memorable because, well, why would anyone do that. Another memorable scene would be when Dr. Leo Marvin is on his way to his birthday party and he is all muddy, his car broke down, and he thinks he finally got rid of Bob, but guess who greeted him at the back door along with a hundred other people? You got it, Bob. I definitely give this movie a thumbs-up. I assume this movie will be enjoyed by many families and many people of a variety of ages. There are not very many movies that I could compare this one to. "What about Bob?" is a smashing movie that is enjoyable and not too corny.
